In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real school magazines? This is my school magazine which I designed for regent high school. I think I have done this magazine well and included everything a real school magazine cover will have. I have put on a masthead and also the school logo and have the date under the logo , have put all the sell lines on the left side and have the image on the right. For this magazine I decided to go with the school colour theme which is dark and light blue have used the light blue at the background and used dark blue text on the foreground so therefore it will stand out.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real school magazines?

This is my school magazine which I designed for regent high school. I think I have done this magazine well and included everything a real school magazine cover will have. I have put on a masthead and also the school logo and have the date under the logo , have put all the sell lines on the left side and have the image on the right. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My target audience for the school magazine is teenagers aged 12-19 and also parent because I

believe parents will be interested on knowing what going on and how the school is.

Also to connect to my target group ,for my front cover I have used a student from the school aged 17 and also the clothes she was wearing connects to this social group.

I have also used sell lines which connect to my target audience , I have done a research which is the questionnaire and found out what my target audience will be interesting on a magazine. Also on my magazine I have used a competition for this age group and gave a free freebie which will be useful for this age range.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The main media institution that would distribute my school magazine will be a school because it is a school magazine but as it is a school magazine there actually aren't a magazine intuition for school magazine but if I had to chose a media institution for my magazine I will choose ………

Firstly I have chosen ipc media because it produces different iconic brands so adding a school magazine it broadens it choices benefiting them and my school magazine. As it is a well known institution it helps promotes and advertise schools and increasing its popularity.

I have also chosen Bauer media group for my school magazine because it has a wide range of mass media market. Also it is the europe largest privately owned publishing group so the magazine will be known well because it already has a good reputation and is very popular.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

As I have mentioned before my target group is for teenagers as it is a school magazine. The age group I have targeted is 12-19 . I believe student who will read my magazine will be people who care about their education because on my magazine front cover one of the sell line is for GCSE results and exam tips. I also believe parents are part of this target group as I mentioned earlier they would want to know what's happening in the child/childrens school and would like to know the latest news and events. My target for this magazine is both genders because I have included what I think they both genders will be interested in for example for the females I included examples of people work and for the boys I included sports.

How did you attract / address your audience?

I attracted and addressed my targets through different methods for example

• First of all I attracted my target audience by using the front cover image which is large and colourful so therefore it will attract the target audience.

• I have also done a questionnaire before making the school magazine and found out information and what my target audience prefer on their magazine so I done sell lines that my audience prefer.

• I used the colour scheme that my audience prefer and also connects to the school colour theme , the school uniform and the current colour theme for regent high school is light and dark blue and I decided to stay with that theme.

• I have also done a content page and used the same colour scheme.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Making this school magazine I have learnt varies of techniques for example …..

First of all I have learnt how to use Photoshop , I haven learnt how to fill the background and add images and mastheads and also use the tools on Photoshop for example I have used the magic wand on my front cover image.

Secondly I have learnt how to use blogger and how to pot my work and also how to save the images and pot it on blogger. Also have learnt how to use different website for example I used scribed to save my work and upload the work on blog and also used drop box to save my work.

I also have learnt taking different types of images for example my school magazine front cover had a mid shot image.I also used the internet explorer to do my research on the school magazine and also used the scanner to scan my work onto the blog and I done most of my work on PowerPoint and Microsoft word.
