Teachers and Leaders

• Replace the principal• Implement new

evaluation system that has been developed with the staff and uses student growth as a significant factor

• Identify and reward staff who are increasing student outcomes; support and then remove those who are not

• Implement strategies to recruit, place and retain staff

Instructional and Support Strategies

• Select and implement an instructional model based on students needs

• Provide job-embedded professional development designed to build capacity and support staff

• Ensure continuous use of data to inform and differentiate instruction

Time and Support

• Provide increased learning time for both staff and students

• Provide ongoing mechanism for community and family engagement

• Partner to provide social/emotional and community-oriented services and supports

Governance

• Provide sufficient operating flexibility to implement reform

• Ensure ongoing technical assistance

RequirementsA2: Use rigorous, transparent, and equitable

evaluation systems for teachers and principals that:Take into account data on student growth as a

significant factor as well as other factors such as multiple observation-based assessments of performance and ongoing collections of professional practice reflective of student achievement and increased high school graduation rates; and

Are designed and developed with teacher and principal involvement

Examples: Teacher Keys/Leader Keys/Focus Walks, Professional Growth Plans, Self-Evaluations, etc

Requirements cont’dA3: Identify and reward school leaders, teachers,

and other staff (custodians, cafeteria, paraprofessionals, secretaries, bookkeeper, etc) who, in implementing this model, have increased student achievement and high school graduation rates and identify and remove those who, after ample opportunities have provided for them to improve their professional practice, have not done so.

Incentive awards will be based on student achievement data for school and individual teachers/staff. EX: EOCT, Lexile (MAP).

Requirements cont’dA4: Provide staff ongoing, high quality, job

embedded professional development that is aligned with the school’s comprehensive instructional program and designed with school staff to ensure they are equipped to facilitate effective teaching and learning and have the capacity to successfully implement school reform strategies.

- Eight Summer PL Days, Eight Additional PL days during Year, SREB, Planning Sessions, Technology, Data Training, etc.

SIG Additional Professional Learning Dates

Summer PL 2012-2013: July 30, 31 and Aug 1, 2012, May 22, 23, 24 ,Two Days of Online Modules May 25-June 5th)

During the Year PL 2012-2013: Saturday’s: Sept. 15, Oct 20, Nov. 17, Dec 15,

Jan 26, Feb 23, March 9, May 4

Staff Individual Responsibility: All staff must sign the time sheets for PL as proof of attendance and/or to ensure that you receive PL pay.

Requirements cont’dA5: Implement such strategies as financial

incentives, increased opportunities for promotion and career growth, and more flexible work conditions that are designed to recruit, place, and retain staff with the skills necessary to meet the needs of the students in a transformation school.

Note: Goal incentives to be awarded if SIG goals are met based on final results of state report card

Requirements cont’dA6: Use data to identify and implement an

instructional program that is research-based and vertically aligned from one grade to the next as well as aligned with State academic Standards. (vertical and horizontal planning, common planning time, technology integration, AP courses etc.)

A7: Promote continuous use of student data (such as formative, interim, and summative assessments) to inform and differentiate instruction in order to meet the academic needs of individual needs.

Data: EOCT/GHSGT all areas, Benchmark data, MAP, GA-OAS, USA Test Prep, etc. GHS monitoring tool, etc.

Requirements cont’dA8: Establish schedules and strategies that provide increased

learning time (ex: sustained silent reading/literacy, afterschool, lunch N learn, etc.)

intensive technical assistance and related support from the LEA, the SEA, or a designated external lead partner organization (SREB, Meriwether County Board of Education and District Office, etc.)

B-1: Describe proposed activities to be carried out during the pre-implementation period, including a proposed budget. (Focus Groups, Planning Sessions, Contract Reviews, etc.)

SIG Annual GoalsThe annual goals were set by the SIGIT during planning and

development of grant application. The incentive pay will be based in part on achieving these annual goals described.

Goals will be monitored throughout the year and feedback will be provided to administrators, teachers/staff. (SREB, GA DOE, District Leaders, GHS Focus Walks, Peer Observations and Data Reviews)

While the SIG annual goals identify ELA/MATH and Graduation Rate data, Social Studies, Science, and CTAE data will also be monitored as well as all other subject areas taught at GHS. Teacher attendance, implementation of PL activities, discipline reports, participation in extra curricular activities, annual evaluations ,etc. will be considered in awarding incentive pay and staff retention.

Annual Goals Year 2: The LEA must establish annual goals for student achievement on the State’s assessments in both Reading/English Language Arts and Mathematics to be used to monitor Tier I and Tier II schools. Write the annual goals below.Reading/ELA 2012-2013: Greenville High School will

increase the percent passing rate of all first time test takers on EOCT/GHSGT by 10%, over the baseline that will be established by the scores earned during the preceding school year.

Mathematics 2012-2013: Greenville High School will increase the percent passing rate of all first time test takers on EOCT/GHSGT by 10%, over the baseline that will be established by the scores earned during the preceding school year.

Graduation Rate 2012-2013: Greenville High School will increase the graduation rate by a minimum of 5%, over the baseline that will be established by the graduation rate of the preceding school year.
