Prof.M.Thirumeni M.Arch, a.iiaSchool design workshopDESIGN OBJECTIVESArchitectural challenge is to design an environment that fosters learning, a positive attitude, curiosity, physical development & interaction.Design of classroom spaces for different age groups having different of activities & user needs age groups from 3 to 5 yrs in nursery, 6 to 10 yrs in primary, 11 to 15 in secondary school.Integration of play areas both indoor & outdoor with the built form in nursery school.How can movement space such as corridors, lobbies, staircase & courtyards be designed to encourage interaction among students & with teachers ?How can the school be designed so that it is a model for a sustainable building and students get to learn green agenda ?The design has to integrate barrier free environment aspects for the physically challenged.
