Test Data and School Report Cards Available The 2016 School Report Cards are available on the American Prep website’s Parent Library under “Plans and Reports” (http://www.americanprep.org/plans-and-reports/). School Improvement Plans for our Title I Campuses will also be located at this site. If you have any questions regarding this data, feel free to contact your school administrators. We CAN Care: APA’s Annual Donation Drive We CAN Care! Get ready for APA’s multi-campus annual donation drive. Every campus, every grade, and every classroom will be working together to fight hunger! This year we’ll be gathering food items to benefit the Utah Food Bank. The food bank provides 31.3 million meals a year to help feed those in need right here in our own state! Let’s show we care by making sure no one goes hungry this holiday season! The donation drive kicks off Dec. 1st and continues through Dec. 16th. We accept CANS, boxes, or plastic-

packaged food items. Please no glass, expired food, or perishable items. Sixth Grade Reading University- Reader’s Choice Challenge

Our sixth grade students will be reading to determine the 2016-2017 Sixth Grade Reader’s Choice Award! At the end of the reading period, Dec. 14, students who have read at least two books from the list and turn in the reading log will be invited to a pizza party and will be able to campaign for their favorite. They will vote and a winner will be declared! Remember, all books read count toward RU reading. Carpool Corner- Now that the road construction along Lone Peak Parkway is finishing, it has become much easier to come in from the north to enter our property. For the safety of everyone and for the fastest drop off and pick-up times for everyone, please do not turn left during the peak carpool times 7:30-8:00 am and 3-4:00/2-3:00 pm. When exiting our property, we are now allowed to use the right turn and merge lane extending south from our property along Lone Peak Parkway. Hopefully this will ease some of the congestion we experience when exiting our property. Thank You! From the Family Support Organization

A huge thanks to Liz Papenfuss for taking the lead on the upcoming Geography Bee. She'll need some helpers the day of the bee (Dec 7th) to help judge. Look for a sign-up genius to come. We are already getting excited for Staff Appreciation Week coming in the spring. If you know of any businesses that would be willing to donate food or products for that week, please, let Sarah Nelson know. We are seeing so many of you volunteer in so many different areas. Thank you! Thank you! Thank You! A special thanks to the wonderful parents who served at the Veteran's Day Assembly. District Parent Involvement Policy At the conclusion of each school year, end-of-year assessment data is reported and organized into a Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA). The CNA includes demographic, attendance, and assessment data. Also included in the CNA are the results of the annual Parent Survey. This Survey evaluates, among other things, the satisfaction of parents with the quality of the academic program and their opportunities to participate in the schools. http://bit.ly/apanewscontest American Preparatory administrators annually invite select staff and parents from each school to participate in a District/School Planning Meeting. This Committee reviews the Comprehensive Needs Assessment and analyzes areas for potential improvement. District/School Plans are developed with goals, action steps, and budget relationships. District and School Parent Involvement Policies are evaluated for effectiveness. School, Parent, and Student Compacts are also examined by this Committee for recommended changes. School Parent Involvement Policies School Parent Involvement Policies vary slightly by campus and are located within the Parent-Student Handbooks. These Handbooks are distributed annually to parents and will soon be accessible on the APA website under the campus drop-down tabs. Athletics and Activities Coaches needed!!
