The Membership Lounge, will as usual, be open from 10.30 am and will be situated inthe President’s Suite which is situated on the right hand side of the passage leadingfrom the far end of the hall near the Royal Canin stand. Please wear your membershipbadge to gain entry to the members’ lounge.

Members are welcome to bring one guest and have as many drinks as they require atany time during the day. Light refreshments (subject to availability) will be provided forMembers between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm.

EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTERESPONSIBILITY — All exhibitors attending the Show shall be responsible for all damage,losses, claims and expenses caused by or resulting from any acts or omissions of themselvesand any child or children of theirs or children in his/her care, and shall fully indemnify the Club inrespect of same.EXERCISE AREA — An Exercise Area will be provided. Bins will be conveniently situated forhandlers and exhibitors to clear up any fouling by dogs in their charge.SMOKING — It is illegal to smoke in the halls.JUDGING TIMES — Judging in each ring will commence at 9.00 am unless otherwise notifiedwith passes or in the Dog Press. PLEASE NOTE: Border Terrier judging will commence at 8.30am.GANGWAYS — 10’ WIDE gangways will be provided for the majority of Breeds so Exhibitorsare able to groom their dogs by their benches. Staffordshire Bull Terriers will have 6’ gangwaysbut larger rings.PLEASE NOTE — Security staff will be patrolling the hall throughout the Show.NOT FOR COMPETITION — Entries for dogs registered with the Kennel Club may be madewhen entering the show. The Kennel Club Special Beginner Competition

The Kennel Club is delighted to announce its sponsorship of a Special BeginnersCompetition from 2018 at General and Group Championship Shows to encouragemore exhibitors to experience a Group competition.

The Best Special Beginner to be declared for each breed plus AVNSC andImported Breed Register classes to go forward to the group competition.

The Kennel Club will provide sponsorship in the form of rosettes 1st - 4th for eachgroup together with prize money of £100 for each group to be awarded as follows:1st prize - £40, 2nd prize - £30, 3rd prize - £20, 4th prize - £10.

RULES & REGULATIONS1 Opening of Show: The Show will open at 7.30 a.m.2 Arrival of Dogs: Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to ensure that exhibits are

available for judging when required.3 Judging Time: Judging will commence at 9.00 am (Border Terrier 8.30 am) unless otherwise notified in the dog

press.4 Removal of Exhibits: Exhibits may be removed from the show after their judging has been completed. Exhibits may

not be removed any earlier unless by written order of the Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Practitioner or of the ShowManagement and then only in very exceptional and unforeseen circumstances which must be reported to the KennelClub. The show will close half an hour after judging has been completed by which time dogs must be removed.

5 Cooking Stoves: The use of cooking stoves in the proximity of tenting and benching areas is forbidden except asauthorised by the Show Management.

6 Entry Fees: In breed classes where Challenge Certificate ARE on offer the entry fee for each dog is £26.00. Inbreed classes where Challenge Certificates are NOT on offer the entry fee for each dog is £12.00. Veteran,Champion, KC Good Citizen and YKC Members Stakes as a First Entry £12.00. Subsequent classes for each dog(including Stakes Classes) £5.00. Dogs entered “Not for Competition” (will be benched with their respective breed)£12.00. Catalogues £5.00 on the day. (There are no pre-paid catalogues). Membership (new members): Single£15.00; Joint £20.00 (Please complete membership application form). Membership (renewal): Single £7.50; Joint£10.00. Please Note: There will be an additional charge of £2.00 for each first entry made on-line aftermidnight on Friday 23rd February 2018.

7 Prize money: YKC Members’ Stakes & YKC Handling Classes: 1st £5.00; 2nd £3.00; 3rd £2.00; Veteran Stakes,N.T.C. Special Members’ Stakes and N.T.C. Special Beginners Stakes: 1st £4.00; 2nd £2.50; 3rd £1.00. NationalTerrier Champion Stakes: 1st £25.00; 2nd £15.00; 3rd £10.00; 4th £5.00; VHC £3.00. KC Good Citizen DogScheme Stakes: 1st £40.00; 2nd £20.00; 3rd £15.00; 4th £10.00; 5th £5.00; VHC £3.00. Yearling Stakes: 1st £25.00;2nd £15.00; 3rd £10.00; 4th £5.00; 5th £5.00.

8 Refusal of Entries: The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries.9 Puppies: Puppies under six calendar months of age on the day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition.

10 Mating of Bitches: The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden.11 Best Puppy in Show. On 1 January 2015 the Kennel Club suspended the Kennel Club Show Regulations which

stipulated that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/StakesClass and that only unbeaten dogs were eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions.From 1 January 2018 this suspension will be made permanent and included in the F Regulations.Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy which has competed andis unbeaten by any other puppy exhibited at the same show. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelvecalendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Where the Best of Breed, Best in Group or Best in Show is apuppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Showrespectively. Similarly, if the Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppywhich has only been beaten by an adult dog it should also automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy inGroup and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed, Best in Group andBest Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best of Breed and Best in Show respectively.(a) Championship Shows Judged on the Group System

(Definition; Shows judged on Group System - Refer to Regulation 27B.)(1) Best Puppy in Breed

A Best Puppy must be declared in each breed from puppies entered in the breed classes.(2) Best Puppy in Group

On 1 January 2015 the Kennel Club suspended the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulated that dogsmust be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and thatonly unbeaten dogs were eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions.From 1 January 2018 this suspension will be made permanent and included in the F Regulations.Best Puppy in Group and subsequent Puppy Group placings must be selected from:-(a) Those puppies declared Best Puppy in Breed provided that they are unbeaten by any other puppy.(b) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group

or on each day provided it is unbeaten by any other puppy.(b) Withdrawal from Competition

Puppies which become eligible for Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show may be withdrawn from allother competition, other than breed classes and Best Puppy in Breed, prior to the competition for Best Puppy inGroup and Best Puppy in Show as appropriate, in order to remain unbeaten. A puppy beaten in competition forBest Puppy in Group or Best Puppy in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it waspreviously eligible. The dog declared Best Puppy in Show, however, must not compete in any subsequentcompetition. Puppies may be withdrawn from Any Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.

(c) ProvisoFor the purpose of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace andTeam or a Special Award confined to one breed will not be considered to be a beaten dog.

Definition of a Category 3 Breed: A breed from time to time designated by the General Committee as requiringparticular monitoring by reason of visible condition(s) which may cause health or welfare concerns. The list ofdesignated Category 3 Breeds is kept under regular review.(a) Shows Judged on the Group System

(Definition; Shows judged on the Group System includes classes for breeds within more than one Group, asdefined in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and requires a judge to declare a Best of each Group after which theexhibits so declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show.)(1) Best of Breed

Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those dogs whichhave received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided for each sexof a breed a Best of each Sex must be declared.NOTE: The Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified award relevant to a Category 3 Breedwill not be confirmed until the dog has passed an examination by the General and Group ChampionshipShow Veterinary Surgeon.

(2) Best of GroupOn 1 January 2015 the Kennel Club suspended the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulated that dogsmust be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and thatonly unbeaten dogs were eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions.From 1 January 2018 this suspension will be made permanent and included in the F Regulations.Best of Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from:-(a) The Best of Breed winners in each group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs.(b) The best unbeaten winning dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group

or on each day.NOTE: The dog declared Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified from a breeddesignated by the Kennel Club as a Category 3 Breed is not eligible to compete in the Group competitionunless it has passed an examination by the Show’s Veterinary Surgeon. If the dog fails to pass theexamination it is ineligible to compete in the relevant Group.

(3) Best in ShowOn 1 January 2015 the Kennel Club suspended the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulated that dogsmust be entered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and thatonly unbeaten dogs were eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions.From 1 January 2018 this suspension will be made permanent and included in the F Regulations.Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners provided they are unbeaten. Reserve Bestin Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection of Best in Show.

(b) Withdrawal from other CompetitionDogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in Show may be withdrawn from all other competitionother than breed classes and Best of Breed prior to the competition for Best of Group or Best in Show asappropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in Show maysubsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best inShow and Reserve Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Dogs may bewithdrawn from Any Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.

(c) ProvisoFor the purposes of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace andTeam or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be beaten dogs.

13 Admission to Groups: Exhibits will not be admitted to Group or Best in Show competition after a period of tenminutes has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have beenunavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission ofthe Show Management.

14 Harsh Handling: Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them. This is not acceptable.Exhibitors should note that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will bereferred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

15 It is not acceptable to handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not to touch the ground when on the move.Exhibitors should note that such practices could constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will bereferred to the Committee under Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

16 Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition: All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (Annex B) —Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.

17 Overseas Exhibitors: All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Competenumber before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete numberwill be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.

18 Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days: Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers thefollowing guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at Kennel Club licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday

route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water

available to drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade — take your own shade, for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of

water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.

Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to direresults. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLEENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needsof their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission orotherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee fordisciplinary action under Kennel Club Limited Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded thatshow societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry.

19 Not For Competition: Not For Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must berecorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

20 Schedule Amendments: No modifications will be made to this schedule except by permission of the GeneralCommittee of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.

21 Abide By Rules: The Show will be held under Kennel Club Limited Rules and Show Regulations. Every exhibitormaking an entry or entries at this show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by Kennel Club Limited Rules andRegulations and by these Regulations, and it is on this understanding only that entries are received.

22 Receipt of Entries: All postal entries must be made on or before Friday 23rd February 2018. In your own interestsuse FIRST CLASS POST and if possible get Post Office proof of posting. If acknowledgement of receipt of entriesis required, an addressed, stamped card must be enclosed. Entries will not be received after Friday 9th March 2018no matter what the date of the postmark is. Online entries can be made up to 12 noon on Friday 9th March 2018 atwww.dog.biz.

23 Correct Fees: No entries will be accepted unless accompanied by the correct entry fees, payable in Sterling.Cheques to be made payable to the NATIONAL TERRIER CLUB in order for immediate payment.

24 Exhibitor Passes: No exhibitor passes will be sent out.25 Unentered Dogs: No dog other than an exhibit duly entered at the Show will be allowed within the precincts of the

Show during its continuance.26 Power to Exclude Dogs: The Committee is empowered to exclude any dog which is not in a fit state for exhibition

from disease, vice, natural or other causes, and if such exclusion takes place before or after the dog is judged, theentry fee will be forfeited.

27 Benching: No dog may be absent from its bench except for the purpose of being prepared for exhibition, judged,exercised or by order of the Veterinary Surgeon or Show Committee. No dog shall be absent from its bench for thepurpose of exercise for longer than 30 minutes. All breeds will be benched in catalogue order and the owner’s dogsof the same breed will be benched consecutively, without extra fee. No bench numbers shall be changed from onepen to another and no dog shall be benched on any but its own numbered bench. Under no circumstances maypartitions between the dogs be removed.

28 Responsibility: The Committee will be most anxious for the care and safety of the dogs brought for exhibition butit must be clearly understood by exhibitors and purchasers of dogs and all other persons, that the Committee will notbe responsible for the entire or partial loss or detention of or damage to a dog or dogs, boxes, hampers, collars orany other property whatever, arising from accident, or any other cause whatever, nor from any act or omission ofthemselves, their officers, agents, servants or others, and it is on this understanding only that entries are received.The committee will not be in any way responsible for any claim for injury or compensation occasioned by or arisingout of the holding of the show or by reason of the act or default of any person or persons in attendance or presentthereat. Parents/adults will be responsible for any damage caused by children in their care.

29 Gangways & Grooming Areas: The majority of breeds have a 10 foot gangway between benches and as long asexhibitors make sure there is a 6 foot clear space in the middle, they will be able to groom their dogs on or at theirbench. Grooming areas are also provided by the Club for those wishing to use them or unable to groom at theirbench. The use of chalk powders or any other similar substance is prohibited within the precincts of the show. Seethe KC Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition F(B).

30 Judging: All Judges are requested to take the classes in each breed in the order in which they are entered in theJudging Book. Should any judged be prevented from fulfilling his/her engagement, the Committee reserves to itselfthe right of appointing another in his/her place. Exhibitors are at liberty to withdraw from competition but no entryfees can be refunded. Judges will be instructed and empowered to withhold the prize or prizes in any class if in theiropinion the dog or dogs exhibited do not possess sufficient merit. Judges are not empowered to give prizes beyondthose offered in this Schedule. The Judge’s decision shall be final except in a case of fraud or misrepresentation orwhere a mistake has been made bona fide by the Judge.

31 Regulations: All Rules and Regulations, or definitions and instructions of the nature of Rules and Regulationsprinted for convenience in other parts of this Schedule, shall be deemed to be the Regulations of the Committee andshall have the same effect as if they formed part of these Regulations.

32 Right of Appeal: Should any question arise not provided for in these Regulations, the decision of the Committeeshall be final, subject to appeal to the Kennel Club.

33 Enquiries etc.: All correspondence, enquiries and letters should be addressed to the Hon. Secretary and the breedexhibited mentioned.

34 Fouling: Any owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possibleany fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club Licensed Show within the Licensed venue and within theenvirons of that event, including car and caravan parks and approaches. Adequate receptacles for the disposal ofsuch fouling will be provided.

35 Control of Dogs: The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed eventsmust at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs,car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at thevenue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).

DEFINITIONS OF CLASSESIn the following Definitions, a Challenge Certificate includes any Show award that counts towards the title of

Champion under the rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club.Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted as

wins at Open Shows. In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members classes or competing forMembers Specials each partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society.

In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing ofPostal entries shall be counted when entering for any class i.e. 16th February 2018.

Wins in Variety Classes do not count for entry in Breed Classes, but when entering for Variety Classes, wins in bothBreed and Variety Classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value.

A dog is not eligible for entry in Variety Classes unless also entered and subsequently exhibited in a Breed Classwhere such a class is provided for which it is eligible. Exemptions from this Regulation are:

On 1 January 2015 the Kennel Club suspended the Kennel Club Show Regulations which stipulated that dogs must beentered and exhibited in a breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogswere eligible to compete in the group or best in show competitions. From 1 January 2018 this suspension will bemade permanent and included in the F Regulations.

(a) A Puppy, unless a class for dogs under twelve months of age for which it is eligible is provided for the breed.(b) A dog in Any Variety Veteran Class. (c) A dog in Any Variety Champion Class. (d) A dog which is withdrawnfrom exhibition in breed classes as a result of the appointment of an emergency judge. (e) A dog in The YoungKennel Club Stakes Classes. (f) A dog in Good Citizen Scheme Classes. (g) Exhibits bred by the scheduledbreed Judge.

If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, theexhibitor may choose one of the following options:

1) WithdrawalThe dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulations 9(j) and 20.2) Transfer(a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its breed, colour, sex, weight or height, the Show Secretary

shall transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height, or in theevent of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted, to the Open class for the correctbreed, colour, sex, weight or height.

(b) If an exhibit is entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy Class, Puppy Class or Junior Class, which is over age butunder 12 calendar months of age, 18 calendar months of age or 24 calendar months of age respectively, theShow Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy Class, Junior Class or Yearling Class respectively for thecorrect breed, colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling Class,to the Open Class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

(c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open Class for the correctbreed, colour, sex, weight or height.

(d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog maynot be transferred to any other class.

MINOR PUPPY—For dogs of six and not exceeding nine calendar months of age on the day of the Show.PUPPY—For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the day of the Show.JUNIOR—For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the day of the Show.YEARLING—For dogs of twelve and not exceeding twenty four calendar months of age on the day of the Show.NOVICE—For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or three or more First Prizes at Open or Championship

Shows (Minor Puppy, Special Minor Puppy, Puppy and Special Puppy classes excepted, whether restricted or not).GRADUATE—For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or four or more First Prizes at Championship Shows

in Graduate, Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open classes, whether restricted or not, whereChallenge Certificates were offered for the breed.

POST GRADUATE—For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or five or more First Prizes at ChampionshipShows in Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open classes, whether restricted or not, where ChallengeCertificates were offered for the breed.

LIMIT—For dogs which have not become Show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of anygoverning body recognised by the Kennel Club, or won 3 or more CC/CACIB/CAC/Green Stars or won seven ormore First Prizes in all, at Championship Shows in Limit or Open Classes, confined to the Breed, whether restrictedor not, at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the Breed.

OPEN—For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show.SPECIAL BEGINNERS—For owner, handler or exhibit not having won a Challenge Certificate or Reserve Challenge

Certificate, or for those breeds not allocated Championship Status, Best of Sex or Reserve Best of Sex at aChampionship Show.

NATIONAL TERRIER CLUB VETERAN STAKES—For dogs of not less than seven years of age on the first day of theShow.

NATIONAL TERRIER CLUB MEMBERS’ STAKES—For dogs owned by fully paid-up members of the National TerrierClub.

NATIONAL TERRIER CLUB SPECIAL BEGINNERS STAKES—Owner, handler or exhibit not to have won a CC or anyaward that counts towards the title of Champion under the rules of any governing body with which the Kennel Clubhas a reciprocal agreement.

NATIONAL TERRIER CLUB CHAMPION STAKES—For dogs which have been confirmed a Champion, ShowChampion or Field Trial Champion.

THE ROYAL CANIN PUPPY STAKES—For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the firstday of the Show.

GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME STAKES—For dogs that have achieved their GCDS Bronze Award Certificate or above.YKC STAKES— Only dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition are eligible for entry into

a YKC qualifying stakes class. Dogs must be on the Kennel Club Breed Register to compete in a YKC stakes

competition. The first placed member only in each dog group at the qualifying show will qualify for Crufts. A rosettewill be awarded. If a member is disqualified, the qualification does not roll down to the next placing. All pedigree dogsare eligible to take part provided the dog is registered on the Kennel Club Breed Register. The dog must be registereda) solely or jointly in the member’s name or b) in the name of a close member of the family (i.e. a group of peoplerelated by blood or by marriage) and under these circumstances the dog must be resident at the YKC member’saddress. No substitute handlers are permitted — the dog must be handled by the registered YKC member. Membersare not permitted to allow another individual to show their dog at the qualifier on their behalf if they are not able toattend the class, unless agreed by the YKC Office prior to the show. Members must be aged 6 - 24 years (members6 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please note that membership of the YKC terminates on amember’s 25th birthday. Therefore if a member is aged 25 years or over by the first day of Crufts they will be unableto compete in any YKC class. Please keep this in mind when entering qualifiers throughout the competing year. Inorder to enter any YKC competition you must be a fully paid up member at the time of entry and competition. If youenter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid your membership fee then any award will be forfeitedTherefore it is important to renew and maintain YKC membership as current if you wish to participate in YKC competitions.

YKC HANDLING CLASSES—Only dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition areeligible for entry into a YKC qualifying class. Qualification is on a points basis as follows: 1st place = 30 points; 2ndplace = 20 points; 3rd place = 10 points. Members will receive points per group (i.e. if they handle a Bloodhound, theywill get points towards the Hound group). If a member gains 30 points in any one group, they will qualify to enter a dogfrom that group at Crufts 2019. If a member gains 30 or more points in multiple groups, they may only compete withone dog at Crufts, but they will have the option to choose from any of the groups they have 30 or more points in. Afull copy of the 2018 rules (for Crufts 2019) can be found here: http://www.ykc.org.uk/media/8824/ykc-handling-regulations-2018-crufts-2019.pdf. The classes are divided into three age groups: 6-11 years (6 yearsand up to, but not including 12th birthday). 12-17 years (12 years and up to, but not including 18th birthday). 18-24years (18 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). In order to enter any YKC competition, you must be a fullypaid up member at the time of entry and competition. If you enter a Crufts qualifi er and you have not previously paidyour membership fee then any award will be forfeited. Therefore it is important to renew and maintain YKCmembership as current if you wish to participate in YKC competitions.

NOT FOR COMPETITION—Societies may at their discretion, accept Not For Competition entries. Societies may acceptsuch entries from breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day,such entries may be accepted on any day from any breed.

REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION F (B)1 These Regulations must be observed when a dog is prepared for exhibition and/or exhibited at any Kennel Club

Licensed event. Objections may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under these ShowRegulations and/or for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rule A42.(a) A dog found to have been exhibited in breach of these Regulations will automatically be disqualified from

exhibition at the show and from any award gained thereat.(b) Unless the exhibitor provides a satisfactory explanation for the dog being exhibited in breach of these

Regulations then he/she may be subject to further penalties of either a fine or as listed under Rule A42.2 (a) No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present in the dog’s coat for

any purpose at any time during the Show. No substance which alters the natural colour of any external part ofthe dog may be present on the dog for any purpose at any time during the Show.

(b) Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog for exhibition must not beallowed to remain in the coat or on any other part of the dog at the time of exhibition.

3 No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may be performed except:(a) Operations certified to the satisfaction of the General Committee.

(b) The removal of dewclaws of any breed.(c) Operations to prevent breeding, provided that such operations are notified to the Kennel Club before neutered

dogs are shown.Nor must anything be done calculated to in the opinion of the General Committee to deceive.

4 The General Committee without previous notice may order an examination of any dog or dogs at any Show. Anyexamination thus ordered will be made by a person having executive authority who shall have a written directivefrom the Kennel Club in their possession. Samples may be taken for further examination and analysis.

5 An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or handler of a dog competing inthe same breed or class. An objection may, however, be lodged by an official of the Show or by anyone so deputedby the Kennel Club. It will be the responsibility of the individual who lodges the objection or the official (asappropriate), to substantiate the grounds for the objection. The Kennel Club will substantiate the grounds for anobjection made on its behalf.

6 Any objection by an individual related to an infringement of these Regulations must be made in writing to the ShowSecretary at his/her office before the close of the Show and the individual must produce evidence of identity at thetime of lodging the complaint.

YOUNG KENNEL CLUB HANDLING CLASSES Judge Miss R Pearce385 6-11 years 386 12-17 years 387 18-24 yearsOnly dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition are eligible for entry into a YKCqualifying class. Qualification is on a points basis as follows: 1st place = 30 points; 2nd place = 20 points; 3rd place =10 points. Members will receive points per group (i.e. if they handle a Bloodhound, they will get points towards theHound group). If a member gains 30 points in any one group, they will qualify to enter a dog from that group at Crufts2019. If a member gains 30 or more points in multiple groups, they may only compete with one dog at Crufts, but theywill have the option to choose from any of the groups they have 30 or more points in.
