SCETV/PBS Teacher Recertification Course Options

ETV Professional Development

We offer 3 online recertification credit programs:

• Renewal credit courses

(NO grad credit)

• Approved by SCDE for SC teachers

• Facilitated online, self-paced

ALL 20 renewal credit courses offered in:

• five sessions, each 6 – 8 weeks in duration

• session “start date” and “end date”

All 20 renewal credit courses are offered in each session:

• Summer (July 1 – mid-August)

• Fall (early Oct. – early Dec.)

• Winter (mid-Jan. – mid-March)

• Spring I (mid-March – early May)

• Spring II (early May – mid-June)

Natural History In and Out of the Classroom with Rudy Mancke

• earns 60 renewal credits

• ONLY offered once a year

• starts in Winter session through April

• All 20 renewal credit courses - $ 75 each

• Natural History for 60 renewal credits - $200

HOW COURSES WORK:

• Session opens for work on “start date”

• Log on to ETV Learn, view video lessons

• Post discussion topic responses/assignments

• Work reviewed by facilitator, rated pass “1”/fail “0”

• Must complete work by session “end date”

• When all work completed, final evaluation will open

• Once final evaluation posted, access certificate of completion

Facilitated Courses: R2S ApprovedEach course costs $300 and earns

60 SC renewal credits(or 3 graduate credits

for an addt’l fee).

• TeacherLine offers graduate credit through 8 fully-accredited higher-ed institutions;all are accepted by the SCDE for credit

• Sierra Nevada College currently offers the lowest price:$75/ 1 graduate credit hour

• Earn 3 graduate credits as low as $525(pay PBS $300 for a 45-hr course and pay Sierra Nevada $225 for the 3 graduate credits)
