The original land was acquired about 1937 and since that time has been used as a training centre for adult leaders as well as for youth (and adult) camping and activities. The facilities are available for rent by groups both within and without the scouting organization. The camp has some 200 acres of natural hardwood and softwood forests, open fields, marshland, swamps and grasslands to explore. In addition, there are several buildings spread out over the camp that can be used as a training/convention centre as well as for group camping. Blue Springs is a four-season camp that has something of interest for all Scouting sections. San Jose, Costa Rica

Campo Escuela Nacional Iztarú (CENI) is the official national center fortraining and events for the Association of Girl and Boy Scouts of Costa Rica.It was acquired by the Association in 1978. Due to its location, landscapes andfacilities, it is a privileged place to hold meetings, courses, seminars,conferences, field trips, and non-formal education activities, as well asresearch and recreation opportunities. Located in La Carpintera ProtectedArea, and 17 kilometers (10 miles) from San José, CENI holds 77 hectares(190 acres) of tropical rainforests; surrounded by beautiful landscapes, wildfauna, water springs, and waterfalls. The annual average temperature is 16.6ºC (62º F).

Eprapah lies in a Catchment which holds a mixture of agriculture andfast-expanding residential and business development. Eprapah containspredominantly dense bushland containing rainforest, wetlands and marinehabitats, with a freshwater creek and ponds, and a dry Sclerophyl forest,all accessed by trails and boardwalks. Its’ extremely diverse and variedhabitats support a wide range of vegetation, birdlife, Koalas and otherwildlife. There is an Arboretum of Native, Medicinal and Traditional-useplants and a Butterfly Garden. It was used as a camping and huntingground by Aboriginal tribes and is officially listed as an IndigenousCultural Heritage site.

Kolding, Denmark

Houens Odde is placed in the centre of Denmark and definitely has a placein the history of the kingdom. In 1947 the Scouts were offered to buyHouens Odde and less than a year later the purchase was reality. At HouensOdde International Scout Centre you can take on the challenge ofexperiencing a great range of activities; from pre-historic activities (candlemaking, leather work, wood carving) to archery, axe throwing, GPS trial,sailing plus many more activities both on land and on the sea.

Kanderstegg, Switzerland

Founded in 1923, the World Scout Centre was the dream of Lord Baden-Powelland is open to groups and individuals throughout the whole year. It provides anexcellent base for exploring the Swiss Alps, for sightseeing excursions and formeeting lots of other people from all over the world. The Centre occupies 17hectares of wooded ground at the southern end of the village. The Centreprogramme is designed to allow guests to experience new activities with peoplefrom other countries in the beautiful Swiss Alps. Around 12,000 young peoplevisit the Centre each year from over 35 different countries, ensuring a uniqueinternational atmosphere.

Mafikeng, South Africa

Mafikeng SCENE was born as part of a project to improve the naturalsurroundings of Mafikeng, and particularly the Molopo river, funds wereallocated by the North West Province from the RDP programme to clean, clearand convert the degraded river area back to its natural state. A highly effectivefacility was opened in 1999. The Mafikeng SCENE now consists of twentycampsites, a covered assembly area, workshop rooms, a dining room, kitchen,large ablution block, bunkrooms, a store and accommodation for a manager,caretaker and twelve volunteers or teachers. The Centre in is in the MafikengGame Reserve Area and there are different trees and grass species around thearea.

This old farm, built in 1833, is situated along the river banks of the«Haute-Sûre». It has been the FNEL’s (Fédération Nationale desÉclaireurs et Éclaireuses du Luxembourg) national training centre since2003. The farm’s location is unique in Luxembourg as it is part ofseveral special conservation areas of the natural habitats of flora andfauna. Moreover, it is situated in the area of sanitary protection of thelake of the «Haute-Sûre». The FNEL contributes to the ecologicalconservation of this wonderful place raising people’s awareness aboutthe environment in the spirit of scouting.

Burlington, Ontario Canada

The 64 hectares (158 acres) camp is surrounded by farm land and green spaceand is named after Mount Nemo which is a rock face of the NiagaraEscarpment. There is a dramatic view, especially at sunrise and sunset, ofMount Nemo and the Niagara Escarpment which is a UNESCO WorldBiosphere Reserve. 50 hectares (123 acres) of Camp Nemo is a naturalwilderness area. It consists of riparian zones surrounding Nemo and BronteCreeks, both of which are primary spawning streams for salmon, rainbow troutand white sucker. The surrounding area consists of deciduous and boreal likewoodlands. Over 170 species of plants and animals can be found within thecamp.

Glumsoe, Denmark

The Naesbycentre is situated in one of the most beautiful areas in Zealand -right in the middle of Zealand between Soroe and Naestved. We have streams,lakes, forests and beautiful landscapes close at hand.To the Naesbycentre 27 acres are attached perfectly divided between planecampsites for bigger or smaller groups, a hilly activity ground and a beautifulsmall lake, around which it is possible to do a lot of different activities.Because of the good location the Naesbycentre offers a wide range of activitiesand arrangements. We arrange a lot of eventful weekends for all age groups.During the summer we arrange 6 or 7 centre camps and we really have a lot ofchallenging activities for all age groups to tackle.

Neuhausqen, Luxembourg

The Centre for Training and Animation "Chalet Nicolas Rollinger" covers anarea of 3.2 hectares with a particular forest area, a chapel, a campground withmore than 5000 m2, a refuge camp, a home guide / Scout can accommodate81 people, and a recreation area with the possibility of fire. The cottage is oneof three national training centers of Lëtzebuerger Guiden a Scouten..Collaboration with the Forest Administration of Nature and Forests since2003 has allowed us to develop new activities around the environmentaleducation. The expertise of the forest and the long experience of guides andscouts in the organization of activities helped to bring awareness of nature andeducation of young people for responsible lives to the conservation of theenvironment.

Kliplev, DenmarkStevninghus is a large Guide and

Scout camp. Here are a lot of

possibilities for sleeping in door as

well as out on the estate. Most of the

site is farmland with continual grass.

On the estate there is endless

possibilities for activities and for

enjoying nature. Ny Hedeby, our

viking village is the base of many

viking activities. We are situated on

the banks of the Lake Hostrup and

therefore you can go fishing,

swimming or rafting.

Spittal, AustriaTechuana is an international camp andtraining centre for the Carinthian boyScouts and girl Guides. Techuana, thesecluded camp ground in the southernpart of Carinthia, Austria offerswhatever a boy Scout or girl Guidedesires. Surrounded by mountains,forests, moorland and a lake it is theperfect place for sporting and naturalactivities like wild life observation aswell.

The Florida National High Adventure Sea Base, located on Islamorada in the

Florida Keys, is owned and operated by the National Council of the Boy

Scouts of America. The facility offers unique educational aquatic programs

and operates nine different adventures out of three different locations: two in

the Florida Keys, and one in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas. The adventures

include Coral Reef Sailing, Sea Exploring Adventure, Scuba Adventure,

Scuba Certification, and Live Aboard Scuba Adventure.

The history of Westernohe Scouts Centre has started in the 50s whenRovers chose this place to build up a recreational centre fordisabled children. People with disabilities are most welcome guests– all houses and most camp sites are accessible also by wheelchair.Sports grounds, a prayer room suitable for different religiousservices, labyrinth, playground, a gym with climbing wall and manymore facilities offer a great variety of activities for scouts ofall ages. The Centre offers self catering and full board – thekitchen is a certified organic kitchen and caters for all kind ofdiets. Campers find sanitary facilities close to their camp sites,groups who stay in the houses are provided with modern and barrierfree toilets and bathrooms.
