2. The WWF VIRTUAL SHOPPING CART seeks to provide an assessment of the impact of foodstuffs and food waste by using two indicators (the Water and Carbon Footprints), which respectively represent water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The shopping cart with its “environmental receipts” seeks to raise awareness on the environmental impact of our behavior and choices.

ROV (REMOTELY OPERATED VEHICLE) Areas of research :
Marine Chemistry and GeochemistryResearchers in the Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry use
field observations, laboratory experimentation, computational modeling, and state-of-the-art analytical techniques to understand processes that regulate ocean
chemistry. Much of this work is directed at identifying and determining chemical fluxes, or exchanges, across ocean boundaries at the seafloor, coastal zone, and air-sea
interface. This research helps to establish the relationship between ocean chemistry and climate and the influence of human activity on the marine environment.
BiologyThis research helps to understand life in the oceans and
the interactions of marine organisms with their environments.
Geology & GeophysicsThis research helps to understand the role of the oceans
in past climate change, the geologic structure and tectonics of the ocean basins and their margins, and the
composition and dynamics of the Earth’s mantle.lunedì 15 luglio 13
