Speech Sound Harry activities – focus on words created using the child’s

Speech Sound Detective – the words are scaffolded (so children will be able

to decode all of the words)

Get ready for the SSP Green Level Sound Pic Word Chant!

Let’s get warmed up first, with the Speech Sound Cow…

Teacher points to a sound pic and the children tell him/ her the speech sound! Then the teacher says a word and the children point to the right sound pics, in the right order Then the teacher points to sound pics in the right order to build a word, and the children work out what it is! Then the children write the sound pics, saying the RWI phrase (ask if you don’t have them)

Don’t forget to say the sounds first, before you blend them into the word!
