Right NOW!December 9, 2013Conference Hall, San Beda CollegeThe San Beda Toastmasters Club in collaboration with Social Sciences and Humanities Association, Student Council Alliance of the Philippines, Kapatiran ng mga Bedista para sa Wikang Filipino, Bedan Advocacy and Consciousness Enhancement Society, and San Beda Debate Society, had a forum entitled KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW! It was held at San Beda College Conference hall.The forum tacked the issue regarding the Students Rights and Welfare Bill (STRAW BILL). It presented the pros and cons of the said bill and its relevance to our lives as students. Honorable Risa Hontiveros and other notable and respected personalities had a talk about different fields and sides of the Straw Bill. At the end of the activity, students were encouraged to support the passage of the Straw bill in the congress by sharing the knowledge that they knew during the said activity to other people and students as well. Budget: NoneEvent Attendance: Approximately 300 PaxBest Features:

1. It was well advertised and well planned.

2. The speakers are well known by the students so many students were interested and attended the said activity3. There was a great manpower during the event. The organizers did well on the smooth flow of the program.

4. The security was able to do their job well. They maintained a safe place for the artists and they secured the place well that the students werent able to enter the restricted areas.5. All the speakers had a deep understanding about the Straw Bill and were able to pass it to other students as well.

6. The event was interactive and students really participated well.

7. Bedans learned something about Straw Bill

8. Speakers were able to encourage students to join them in the crusade for passing the straw bill.9. Bedans participated well on the event and they enjoyed the event a lot.

Recommendations:

1. The students must stay from beginning up until the end of the forum to avoid distractions to other participants and to the speakers as well.2. Make a follow up activity regarding the Straw Bill.

It was a forum that tackles the importance of youth empowerment in the society. Different personalities were invited to share their insights and thoughts to all students. They also shared their success stories in to the fields that they are in at the moment.
