A WEEKLY NEWSLETTER FOR CHARLESTON COUNTY
Saying Farewell to Beverly Craven
Last Thursday, friends, family, co-
workers, and County Council members
past and present attending a retirement
party for Beverly Craven. US Senator Tim
Scott presented Craven with the Order of
the Silver Crescent Award. According to
the Governor’s Office the Order of the Sil-
ver Crescent is the state's highest civilian
award for significant contributions, leadership, volunteerism,
and lifelong influ-
ence within a region or community. Senator Scott also presented
Craven with
an American flag that flew over the Capitol building in her
honor. Craven has
served as Clerk of Charleston County Council for nearly 30
years.
In true Beverly Craven fashion there was a throne for her to sit
on and a table
with all of her hats on display for others to try on and take
pictures.
