About the project

Saybouna is a project which was launched by AIESEC Carthage last year in the program of British Council of ACTIVE CITIZENS.

The team responsible of this project, chaired by Malek Laalai, decided to run a project that concerns tunisian women.

In order to enhance the status of women in Tunisia and improve the conditions under which certain live to surpass the daily obstacles they face, the team have decided to join all their effort and opted for project to treat an issue in our society :

Women Sexually Harassed in Tunisia. Indeed , the aim of the project was to identify the reasons why it is a taboo, the consequences of belittling and how to fix it In fact, the team of saybouna decided to organize a conference and produce a reportage to denounce the scourge. This reportage was broadcast for the first time at the conference they have organized.

And in which various Tunisian figures concerned with the theme "the role of women in Tunisian society“ were invited. To do the reportage, they have collected testimonies and have interviewed people who can analyze the problem from different approachs : legal, social, scientific and religious.

The realization of this project has helped them to get the message to ministries and stakeholders concerned by the topic.

The minister of transport was present in the conference, made a speech inter alia he promised to contribute in the project by helping to do an impact on society . So far we have the support of the ministry of transport to run a campaign to

raise the awareness of society about the scourge.For this term , our work is to organize different events, manage the campaign and other tools to sensitize the citizens about women sexually harassed. We are glad to invite you to be a part of this challenging experience. It’s time to step up from your comfort zone and experience a new journey in AIESEC.
