The crowning achievement of Nuttycombe’s decorated career, however, was winning the team title, the first ever for a Big Ten program, at the 2007 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship. That same year, he was also named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coach of the Year.

These popular classes required the district to expand its training facility several times to meet the student and athletic team demands. What began as a 1,200-square-foot weight room grew into facility spanning more than 8.500 square feet, known as the Human Performance Center.

Nitka received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse. Sanderson’s work with Michigan’s men’s golf program has yielded four NCAA regional bids, with two team and two individual and a top-10 national finish (2010-11). With the women’s golf program, Sanderson has three NCAA regional appearances, two team and one individual.
