Saudi Fan Industries was established in 1999 as another manufacturing division of steadilygrowing organization " Refrigeration House Group" in order to fulfill requirements of local marketfor air movement and control equipments.As a member of Refrigeration House Group, that has market research for ventilation equipmentsspread over 25 years, Saudi Fan Industries now has grown into a full swing manufacturing unit tosatisfy the demanding needs of air movement and control equipments for modern residential,commercial and industrial zones.

Saudi Fans Distinguished FeaturesSaudi Fan Industries ' fans are equipped with direct drivenexternal rotor motors, which have decisive advantages overconventional fans:

Long Service Life Compact design The speed is 100% controllable through auto transformer or electronic control. Low starting currents.

Advantages of our single phase type fans.We recommend the use of single phase fans (E), wheneverpossible, which offer the following advantages:

Two or five cores plus earth cable only. Always correct direction of rotation. Motor protection through built-in thermal overload contacts, wired in series with the motor winding. Low cost speed controllers with 5 steps or electronic control, available ex-stock.

External rotor motorsThe external rotor motor drive offers features such as space saving, compact and attractive design.The motor is fitted within the impeller, which enables the bestpossible cooling. For this reason a 100% variable speedcontrol can be guaranteed. V-belts, additional tension barsand motor mountings are not necessary.Only over-dimensioned ball-bearings (German products),fitted on both side, sealed for life, are used. Both ball-bearingseats are ground to high precision in one work process toeliminate any vibrations.

External rotor motors have extremely low startingcurrents.

The motors comply with protection class IP44 according to DIN40050. Protection class IP 54 for double inlet fans is availableon request.

Insulation Class

The windings of single inlet fans comply with insulation class B,

the windings of double inlet fans comply with insulation class F.

In addition the windings have a standard moisture impregnation.

Thermal Protection

All external rotor motors except the explosion-proof motors are

equipped with thermal contacts, embedded in the windings to

protect the motor. Thermal contacts are bi-metallic cutouts,

temperature dependent, When properly wired they protect

against overload, main-phase failure, stalling of motor and too

high ambient temperatures.

Motor protection is guaranteed, when the thermal contacts are

wired through a tip contactor circuit.

In connection with thermal contacts we recommend to fit our

supplied controllers for better motor protection.

For the exhaust of explosive mixture in temperature classes

T1 to T3 in Zone 1 and 2, we offer fans with specific controllable

motors in protection class "e", for intrinsically safe application,

according to DIN 50019.

Electrical connection

Electrical connection will be made by an enclosed terminal box,

protection class IP 44. As special execution we are able to deliver

terminal box made of aluminum protection class IP 55.

Selection of Fans

The following must be considered when selecting a suitable fan;

Desired air volume and pressure loss

Possible sizes

Sound characteristics

Ambient conditions

Electrical power supply and tolerances

For the determination of the required air volume, any existing

resistance must be considered, which determine the operating

point. These losses could be from ducts and filters in front of or

behind the fan, air diffusers, heating and cooling elements and

ducts bends.

These resistence vary at the square of the air volume and can be

described in a specific characteristics curve.

Ambient operating temperature

Maximum ambient operating temperature can be taken from the

data sheets. Should the temperature indicated not be sufficient,

the possible temperature can be increased by using a larger motor

(at extra expenses).

Application: The high efficiency radial fans have been developed especially for modern ventilation and air conditioning applications General ventilation of commercial premises. Slightly dusty and greasy air, Slightly aggressive gases and fumes (please refer to our engineers).

ConstructionCasingThe casing of the high efficiency radial fans is made of galvanizedsheet steel and the side parts of the scroll is assembled with thespirally shaped guide plate through a standing seam.The side parts are produced with nut sets to fix the mountingbrackets, which can be fixed in steps of 90°.

ImpellersThe impeller is made of galvanized sheet metal, and is mounteddirectly to the rotor of external rotor motor and is balanced at twolevels together with the rotor according to G 2,5 to DIN/ISO 1940.

Electrical connectionThe motors are fitted with flying lead. The electrical connectioncan be made via an IP44 terminal box, which is supplied loose.

Direction of rotationDirection of rotation for fan types ERA is clockwise viewed fromthe inlet side.

Noise levelsThe figures in the air performance curves quoted in circles arethe “A” decibel figures which are the soundpower levels LWA4,at the outlet side in duct systems.

The “A” sound power level at the inlet side LWA5 according toDIN 45 635, part 38, is obtained as follows:

LWA5 = LWA4 2 dB(A)The “A” sound pressure level LPA at a distance of 1 meter isobtained approximately by deducting 7 dB(A) from the“A” sound power level.

It is important to note that the reflection and room characteristicas well as natural frequencies differently influence the soundpressure levels.

The octave sound power level is important for the choice of suitablesound attenuator. It is obtained as follows.

Fan (Blower assembly) shall be as manufactured by Saudi Fan Industries, Saudi Arabia and shall be complete with a

High Efficiency Radial Fan type: ERAE / ERAD with either 50Hz or60 Hz external rotor motor suitable for 127V or 220V-1Ph

or 220V/380V-3 Phase power supply where required.

Type ERAE /ERAD (Single width Single Inlet SWSI)

The complete fan shall be assembled using a compact combination of external rotor motor close coupled to a forward curve

impeller to realize best possible cooling. The external rotor motor shall have a minimum of IP 44 construction per DIN 40050;

the windings` insulation shall have class “B” construction with additional protection against moisture; each external rotor motor

shall be 100% compatible ordinary electronic speed controller by varying speed from 100% to 10% of rated speed

(Note : For 3 phase external rotor motors other methods of motor speed control variable speed driver or multi-tap step down

transformers should be availab le).

Each motor shall have a built-in thermal overload protection.

The casing shall be made from galvanized steel sheets or painted with an epoxy paint against corrosion protection.

The impeller shall be forward curve type and shall be made of galvanized steel.

Both impeller & external rotor motor shall be balanced at 2 levels as per DIN/ISO 1940 G 2.5.

Each fan shall be equipped in to an IP 44 terminal box with a wiring diagram.

Fan shall be UL & AMCA listed.
