Thanks for all your wonderful help and prayers on behalf of Watoto wa Lwanga Nairobi. I am sorry it has taken me so long to write. Our social workers have been out in the community working with children who really need the outreach that your
church helps make possible. It is not easy, but we love it and find it enjoyable. Again, I am so happy and grateful for the gift of $1,637,27. We will always be thankful for the support of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. With kind warm regards, Br. Hillary.
Pope Francis calls us all to “missionary discipleship.” The Lay Pastoral Ministry Program can equip you to respond with a “Yes!” The LPMP is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and helps laymen and laywomen grow in faith, discern and develop gifts for ministry, and gain the knowledge and confidence needed to serve families, communities and parishes more effectively. Evening and Saturday courses in Scripture, the Catechism, Church History, Discipleship, Morality and Evangelization fit into a busy adult schedule. Interviews are now ongoing for graduate and non-degree classes, beginning in August, at the Cincinnati locations which include the Main Campus in Mt. Washington and Good Shepherd in Montgomery. All lay students will receive a 25% tuition reduction this year. Call 513-231-1200 for information or to schedule an appointment.
NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME AUGUST 12, 2018
Drug and Medical Sharps Disposal: Medication flushed down the toilet or placed in the trash can poison ground water. And medications left in home medicine cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse. Bring unused and outdated medications to the Tipp City Police Department for proper disposal. The Police Department also accepts medical sharps, including lancets and needles. However, residents must package sharps properly! Use a wide-mouth, heavy plastic container with a tight lid – such as detergent or fabric containers. Close the container and seal with masking or heavy adhesive tape.
