Itrsquos that time of the year again We are pleased and honoured to once again invite you to participate in the Ladies MAMT 2019 which this year is being held in Birmingham over the August bank holiday in conjunction with Al Najiyaat Ladies
As always we are constantly working behind the scenes to honour our commitment of making this event successful By adhering to the highest standards of preparation we aim to create an ideal environment for all participating teams and strive to ensure that there is fair play and maximum transparency
These annual tournaments have always been the platform to bring communities together in unity as well as to enjoy some healthy competition This year we hope you have a wonderful and enjoyable time with members of the other Jamaats

The Council of European Jamaats (CoEJ) wants to promote sports for all in creating an environment motivated by our Islamic faith to encourage fair play sportsmanship and team spirit The Mulla Asghar Memorial Tournament (MAMT) wants to provide an opportunity to enhance community spirit through effective networking between individuals and Jamaats by organising an annual tournament in a family environment
With over one thousand participants and spectators annually it is a stepping-stone for participants to represent their communities with pride Our CoEJ community through MAMT enhances wellbeing and supports spiritual physical and mental developments This year the annual tournament is going to be hosted by the Birmingham Jamaat from 24 August to 26 August 2019

The following categories will be implemented for the Badminton 16+ category1 BeginnerLow intermediate2 Intermediate 23 Intermediate 3Advanced
Please rate yourselves based on how you have performed in past tournaments and the ability level you play at in weekly sessions (if applicable) If you have played in the Lady of Light tournament and reached the latter stages of the tournament in your category then you will be expected to move up to the next category
If you have reached the Premiership in either the Marhaba 2018 or MAMT 2018 tournaments then you will either fall in the Intermediate 2 or Intermediate 3Advanced categories
If you are new to badminton or if you were in the Championship in previous tournaments then you are likely to fall in the BeginnersIntermediate 1 category
If you and your partner are a mixed ability pair then you will be categorised as the higher ability of your pairing For the U16 categories the age of the older pair will dictate the category the pair falls in If you are still unsure please contact the badminton coordinators in your local jamaats
For Badminton participants aged 55 and over should play in the 16+ category if their ability is higher than BeginnerIntermediate 1

General Rules
bull All entries and payments must be submitted by the deadline
bull Behaviour deemed unfit or un-Islamic will not be tolerated Any gross misconduct or swearing will be
severely dealt with by the disciplinary committee
bull COEJ and the hosting jamaat will not be responsibleliable for any mental or physical trauma to
participants and their belongings
bull All teams will have a nominated sports rep who will raise any concerns with the management team
bull Under no circumstances will a participant be allowed to play for more than one jamaat for one sport
bull Participants are allowed to enter up to 3 sports provided they take responsibility for clashes in fixtures
bull Participant application automatically provides consent for photographs to be taken If a participant
wishes to opt out please contact the management team
bull The starting date of the tournament will be used to determine the age of the participants Any player
entering the wrong age category will immediately be disqualified
bull The Jamaat rephead of sports will be responsible for registration and to ensure the teams arrive on
time Late arrivals will be penalised
bull The minimum number of participants required in ALL Badminton categories for fixtures to go ahead
are 10 (For singles ndash 10 participants For doubles ndash 10 pairs) With the exemption of the 55+ category
a minimum of 6 pairs are required

bull Teams may only borrow players from other jamaats in the following circumstances
bull If a player has been injured and they require a player to complete the team
bull A registered player has not been able to attend the tournament
bull Where the management team allow
bull Two small jamaats will be able to merge to submit a team to participate in the tournament
bull Any person visiting or using sports facilities which have been arranged by COEJ and the management
team does so at their own risk COEJ and the Ladies MAMT management team does not accept any
liability for injuries incurred by participating either on or off the pitch or while spectating
bull COEJ and the management team do not accept any liability to any damage or loss of personal belongings
of participants or spectators whether during the allocated period of play or where belongings are left in
the changing rooms or on site
bull It is the responsibility of jamaat coordinators to ensure adequate supervision is organised of all facilities
including the swimming facility
bull Please note the qualification criteria for participating is based on each individual jamaat sports body
membership as long as participants are of the Shia faith

bull TIDY Please leave the centres as clean as possible ndash crisp packets water bottles letrsquos

of birth and contact numbers that have been subsequently passed onto the
MAMT Management team
bull Unless informed otherwise the MAMT Management team will hold personal
data securely for a maximum of one month after the Tournament after which
all personal data will be deleted

bull Mehfile Abbas (KSIMC Birmingham) will NOT be available for use during this tournament weekend due to extensive
renovations which are taking place at the centre
bull All participants will be required to book and organise their own accommodation Management will work on securing group

bull Shower facilities will be available at the sports venues for participants to use

The Council of European Jamaats (CoEJ) wants to promote sports for all in creating an environment motivated by our Islamic faith to encourage fair play sportsmanship and team spirit The Mulla Asghar Memorial Tournament (MAMT) wants to provide an opportunity to enhance community spirit through effective networking between individuals and Jamaats by organising an annual tournament in a family environment
With over one thousand participants and spectators annually it is a stepping-stone for participants to represent their communities with pride Our CoEJ community through MAMT enhances wellbeing and supports spiritual physical and mental developments This year the annual tournament is going to be hosted by the Birmingham Jamaat from 24 August to 26 August 2019

If you have reached the Premiership in either the Marhaba 2018 or MAMT 2018 tournaments then you will either fall in the Intermediate 2 or Intermediate 3Advanced categories
If you are new to badminton or if you were in the Championship in previous tournaments then you are likely to fall in the BeginnersIntermediate 1 category

Please rate yourselves based on how you have performed in past tournaments and the ability level you play at in weekly sessions (if applicable) If you have played in the Lady of Light tournament and reached the latter stages of the tournament in your category then you will be expected to move up to the next category
If you have reached the Premiership in either the Marhaba 2018 or MAMT 2018 tournaments then you will either fall in the Intermediate 2 or Intermediate 3Advanced categories
