“The Blue Eye”– unique natural spring in Saranda“Monastery Bay” in Saranda Butrinti – largest archeological site in Albania
Saranda, the gateway to the southern Albania, is a small town located between high mountain and the Ionian Sea.
The name Saranda derives from an early Christian monastery dedicated to Santi Quaranta (Forty Saints).
Located on the shores of Ionian sea, in front of Greek island of Corfu, Saranda is characterized by a Mediterranean climate and warm sea waters.
Due to its location and warm weather Saranda is one of the most attractive tourist town in Albanian Riviera, where honeymooners traditionally spend their holidays.
Located in front of the sea and along the main promenade there are some hotels and restaurants which offer you catering facilities and accommodation. Daily ferryboat links Saranda with the nearby Greek island of Corfu.
Saranda today… a new promenade, new developments and attractions, deep blue skies, glorious sun, sea and multiple areas of interest surrounding Saranda!

Getting to SarandaThe best way to get to Sarande, and indeed the south of Albania, if you are coming from outside the country, is to take a ferry from Kerkyra, Corfu.
There are one or two a day (during the peak season as many as four per day) and they leave from the main port in Corfu Town, opposite Hotel Atlantis.
There are no official timetables, but they generally leave between 8-10am and between 2pm-4pm. The journey takes from 35 mins to about an hour and a half, and the prices strat from 15 euros.
Tickets can be bought from the ticket office on the keyside.
There is also a daily ferry that makes group tours from Corfu.
The trip coasts 28 euros (+ 9 euros as port taxes) and includes the boat, visit to Butrint Roman Ruins (near Sarande) , lunch and boat back.
No visa required.
For EU citizens not even passport required, just ID card.
