On July 28,2020, the school organised a Sapling Plantation Activity for the students of LKG and UKG, to mark the relevance and importance of planting trees and to convey to the students that it is a combined mission of all mankind to plant more trees in order to save our ailing planet. The students participated whole heartedly in the activity and planted saplings in and around their homes.

SHOW & TELL COMPETITION
To enrich the oratory skills and to foster public speaking competency of the
young minds, the school organised Virtual Show And Tell Competition for the
students of classes LKG and UKG on July 30,2020. The students of class LKG
and UKG were given the themes; ‟My Favourite Toy‟ and „My Favourite Food‟
respectively. The purpose of conducting the activity was not only to blend
learning with fun but also to develop confidence in them. It goes without saying
that students’ involvement in individual activity infuses in them originality,self
confidence and self reliance. Such motivational presentations help the students
to stay the course to achieve their skills and to discover the power of spoken
words.
RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION
The spirit of festivity & cheer intertwined with the values of integrity &
cultural enrichment, unleashed a new enthusiasm in the students of LKG & UKG
classes, as they celebrated „Raksha Bandhan‟ on August 4, 2020 on a virtual
platform. The festival of Rakhi celebrates the unifying and everlasting bond of
love and affection between siblings. To mark the significance of this special
occasion, students sang Rakhi song, rhymes, watched moral based video
presentation and gave astounding performance on the song „Phoolon ka taron
ka‟…They were also involved in fascinating Rakhi Making Activity which tickled
the creative young minds of our little artisans. Such celebrations not only bring
feeling of oneness and unity among the family members but also symbolize peace
& brotherhood in society.
JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION
“ACHYUTAM, KESHAVAM KRISHNA DAMODARAM,
RAM NARAYANAM JANAKI VALLABHAM”
Birthday Celebrations have always been frolicking & delightful for the children of Pre
Primary age group. Birthday Celebrations would remain incomplete if we do not
commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth reincarnation of Lord Vishnu – the
Protector. On this joyful occasion, the students of LKG & UKG classes celebrated
Janmashtami virtually on August 11, 2020 which flowered into a grand success. The
celebration comprised of enchanting tales about Lord Krishna, enthralling bhajan
presentation, Mukut Craft, Flute making with clay & graceful dance performances.
The little ones donned themselves in the attire of Lord Krishna and Radha looked
adorable rollicking around with flutes, peacocok feathers and matkis. The celebration
highlighted the significance of the grand event, stressing on the relevance of Lord
Krishna’s teachings with regard to present situation. The blissful celebration culminated
with Shri Krishna Aarti and vote of thanks. The virtual celebration was indeed truly
informative, enlightening and entertaining.

LET‟S SALUTE THE NATION ON THIS AUSPICIOUS DAY”
To give due reverence to the independence of our Nation and to ignite the passion
of Nationalism and Patriotism amongst the students, our school celebrated 74th
glorious year of India’s independence with great enthusiasm and fervour. This year
on August 14, 2020 the celebration took a virtual route & witnessed a plethora of
online performances such as Patriotic Rhyme Recitation, Action song „Nanha
Munna Rahi Hun‟, Show & Tell (National Symbols) and mesmerizing dance
performances on the song „Suno gaur se‟. „Flag Making Activity‟ instilled in the
students feeling of respect & pride towards the National Flag. Indeed it was a day
of elation, a day of love and respect for the nation, a day of glory. Independence
Day reminds us of the precious gift of freedom by the great leaders of our
Country.

September 5, commemorates the birth anniversary of a Great Scholar, Bharat Ratna recipient & the 2nd President of India Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. To pay tribute to the Great Teacher and to express gratitude to the teachers for their sincere efforts in online teaching during this tough pandemic time, the little Ramakrishnanians celebrated „Teacher‟s Day‟ on September 4, 2020.
Students showered their love & respect on their teachers by singing rhymes, giving speeches and presenting live dance performance. They made this day even more special by dressing up as their favourite teacher and sharing their feelings. Few parents also appreciated & highlighted teachers & management’s efforts in designing & initiating such wonderful learning experience for the students during the pandemic.

We at RKS believe in celebrating all festivals with great pomp & show, giving an
opportunity to our students to understand the cultural roots of our country. Keeping
the festive spirit alive, Virtual Dussehra Celebration was held on October 23, 2020
for the little ones of LKG & UKG classes. Celebration started a week before with
Ramayana stories, animation videos which helped them acknowledge that every year this
significant festival is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. Our little
learners enjoyed making stick puppet & drawing of Ravana. The cultural programme
included the poetic Ramayana & beautiful dances and above all the anchoring done by
little Madhurta & Naunidh added special delight to the occasion. Being a diverse
country, through such celebrations, students not only learn the significance behind the
festival but also learn to embrace other traditions and culture. It also serves as a
constant reminder that truth always triumphs.
“CREATIVE PLAY WITH VIBRANT CLAY,
PRODUCTIVE & INNOVATIVE DAY”
Clay Craft is an impressive and interesting way to spark a child’s imagination
and creativity. It also fosters important skills and competencies. Considering
these facts, the school organized online Clay Moulding Competition on
November 6, 2020. The creative little champs of LKG & UKG classes gave
astonishing response by moulding, squeezing, rolling and blending the raw clay
into colourful, real looking fruits & vegetables. The finest and innovative
creations were awarded with I, II & III positions and E – Certificates. The
main objective of the competition was to stimulate fine motor skills, problem
solving skills, self expression and improve hand – eye coordination.
DIWALI CELEBRATION
“MAY MILLIONS OF LAMPS ILLUMINATE YOUR LIFE WITH ENDLESS
JOY & PROSPERITY, HEALTH & WEALTH FOREVER”
Diwali being one of the biggest festivals of India, is popularly known as
festival of lights. On this day, irrespective of the religions, we all worship
Lord Ganesha for welfare & prosperity and Goddess Laxmi for wealth &
wisdom. Our Pre – schoolers also celebrated this grand festival on November
13, 2020 and illuminated everyone’s heart with joy & fervour. The entire
cultural programme was an amalgam of rhymes, singing and depiction of
Great Epic „Ramayana‟ and brilliant dance performance. The catchy
introduction by our adorable anchors: Aarzoo, Divisha, Givaansh &
Gauransh glorified the festival. The celebrations concluded with seeking
blessings of the Almighty by singing ‘Aarti’.
COLOURING COMPETITION
“THE ARTIST IS NOT A SPECIAL KIND OF PERSON,
RATHER EACH PERSON IS A SPECIAL KIND OF ARTIST”
The inspiration & power of art plays a vital role in awakening joy in creative
expressions, developing artistic skills, stimulating concentration, and encouraging
self expressions. Children during their developmental years are curious and keen
observers and have abundance of energy to excel in various activities. Henceforth
colouring competition was planned for the sparkling stars of LKG & UKG classes
on December 24,2020. All the students participated passionately in the colourful
activity and came out in flying colours. The judgement criteria was colour
combination, strokes, neatness and overall presentation. The magnificent art work
was applauded and awarded E-certificates. The event gave an opportunity to the
little ones to enjoy the vibrant colours of their childhood.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
“THE BEST WAY TO SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER
IS SINGING LOUD FOR ALL TO HEAR”
We all love Christmas festival and to make this Christmas, a memorable one, Virtual Christmas Carnival was organized by RKS on December 25, 2020 for the tiny tots of LKG & UKG classes. All the students and parents were invited for the online celebration through a musical e-invite. All our lovely kids dressed up in red & white looked sparkling bright with exciting smiles on their faces. They sang beautiful carol – Rudolph the red nose reindeer…., shared wonderful Christmas Wishes and danced to the peppy music of “Jingle Bells – Jingle Bells”. Our Jingling little Ramakrishnanians made this Christmas even more special with plum cake party. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. The celebration ended by wishing each other “Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2021”.
LOHRI CELEBRATION
“MUNGFALI DI KHUSHBOO TE GUDD DI MITHAS
PUNJABI TAPPE TE BOLIYAAN HAI HI KUCHH KHAAS”
‘Lohri’ a harvest festival of Punjab was celebrated on January 13, 2021 via
virtual platform due to the pandemic restrictions. The vibrant students of
LKG & UKG classes dressed up in traditional Punjabi attire, celebrated this
festival with enthusiasm and exuberance. It seemed as if children were
completely absorbed in the festive spirit as they sang punjabi poetry &
performed giddha and bhangra with full energy & vigour. The celebration
made them aware of the significance of the festival. At the end of the
cultural programme Lohri Wishes were extended to all the students and the
parents.
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
ON THIS SPECIAL DAY, LET‟S PROMISE OUR MOTHERLAND THAT
WE WOULD ALWAYS STRIVE TO MAKE OUR COUNTRY „THE BEST IN THE WORLD‟
Republic Day is a remarkable day in the history of India as on January 26,
1950 finally the Constitution of our Country came into effect. We at RKS
planned to celebrate this moment of pride, our Republic Day with great pomp
and show on January 25, 2021 through online cultural events. Our Blooming
buds participated in tricolour cap making activity, short presentation on Unity
in Diversity, Patriotic Song Singing, Role Play and Dazzling Dance Performance
on the beats of ‘Teri mitti mein mil javan’. The celebration of this glorious day
left a mark on everyone’s heart & spread the feeling of patriotism everywhere.
The programme came to an end with the singing of National Anthem.
ENGLISH RECITATION COMPETITION
“POETRY IS WHEN AN EMOTION HAS FOUND ITS THOUGHT
AND THE THOUGHT HAS FOUND WORDS”
Rhymes have always proved to be an instrumental stepping stone for young children to develop their verbal skills and boost their confidence. They have always been an integral part of Pre-School Education. The Pre-Schoolers at this age relish the beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings & rhythm. Taking all these facts into consideration, Virtual English Recitation Competition was organized on February 12, 2021 for the bubbling Ramakrishnanians of LKG & UKG classes.
This activity witnessed 100% participation where in the little ones recited their favourite rhymes with impressive introductory lines, adequate actions ,poetical expression & creative props . Judgement was done on the above mentioned parameters and the Best Reciters were awarded with I, II & III Positions. Such competitions are a platform for young talents to develop confidence for speaking fluently and coherently.
