    SAP DSM manages three main business objects

    DSM Program

    Defines the process controls required to implement energy-efficiency or demand response measures at the customer site, how to achieve the programs goals and what incentives are available.

    DSM Application

    Represents a customer's request to participate in an energy-efficiency or demand-response program to implement certain measures in return for incentives

    DSM Agreement

    Represents an agreement between an energy company and its customer where the customer agrees to implement the companys energy efficiency measures in return for incentives.

    Business rules for the DSM program

    Execute eligibility check

    Enforce payment limits

    Calculate goal contributions

    Calculate incentive amounts

    Determine default product for product incentive

    The eligibility check can verify whether a customer can apply or enroll in a DSM program.

    The payment limit determines a maximum amount of financial incentives to be paid to the program participant.

    Calculates amount of energy savings or other amount of goal contribution for a specific measure.

    The components of a DSM ProgramTypical programs managed by the DSM solution

    Utilities manage a variety of Energy efficiency and Demand Response programs. Following is a list of typical energy-efficiency programs that can be managed by the DSM solution:
