Come Holy Spirit! My dear friends, what a great joy it is to celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, upon the Apostles in the upper room. I pray that the Spirit will pour anew into our new wine skin — our restored church build-

ing, and our lives. I pray also that you will open wide your own heart and see how the Lord is inviting you to take your spiritual life up a notch. Even a small step in this direction is quite pleasing to the Lord. I look forward to the many celebrations this weekend as a community. CONGRATULATIONS to the children celebrating their First Eucharist this weekend.

Masses next week that will include children re-ceiving Eucharist for the first time are Sat, Jun 14 at 4:30 pm and Sun, Jun 15 at 11:00 am. Due to the celebration of First Eucharist, Liturgy of the Word for Children (LOWC) will not gather at the 11:00 am Mass on Jun 15.

• Parishioner Alice Isadernia. Alice’s funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church in Brooklyn, NY, last week and she was buried with her husband nearby.

Please continue to pray for the full recovery to health of Bishop Cirilo Flores. He suffered a mild stroke in April and continues to recuperate at home.

2014-2015 RELIGIOUS ED REGISTRATION PRESCHOOL - CONFIRMATION

REGISTER NOW- Confirmation fees have in-creased and other fees will increase on Jul 1

When: Mon thru Fri, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm in the Catechet-ical Ministry Office .

What to Bring: Fees and your child's baptism cer-tificate, if not already on file, are due at the time of registration.

Special Note: Families who are not registered at Santa Sophia must provide a letter from their parish priest giving permission to attend Santa Sophia’s religious education classes.

Prerequisites: Confirmation prep: Completion of Religious Ed Level 8 or graduation from a Catholic elementary school is a prerequisite for Confirmation Level I. Level I candidates must bring their Sponsor Eligibility Form completely filled out, signed and sealed by the sponsor’s parish priest in order to register for Level II.

and is open to children enrolled at Santa Sophia Academy as well as chil-dren of families registered with Santa Sophia Church. The cost for the en-tire month is $385.00, but weekly and

KID’S SUMMER FUN

The Academy would like to thank all of the pa-rishioners who supported both the Opportunity Drawing and Basket Raffle after Saturday and Sun-day masses. Your support means the world to us! As always we thank you for your ongoing support and prayers.

This year, with the church fire, has been difficult for all of us. One way it has affected the school has been our inability to have our fundraisers, so this year es-pecially we thank you for your monetary support.

The winners of the prize money from the Opportunity Drawing are: $1,000 - James Meyers, $1,000 - The McGowan Family, $3,000 - The Mary Family, and $5,000 to Maria Guzman.

• 1st Saturday of the month is Coffee and Cate-chism in the Verhouven Room from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Here it’s easy to connect with the young adult community and learn a little something about the Catholic faith over a cup of coffee.

• 2nd Saturday of the month it’s Supper Saturday right after the 4:30 pm Mass gather in the parking lot to car pool for dinner at a local restaurant
