Sangfors WAN Optimization Controller (WOC) removes many of the inefficiencies

that can cause a lack of bandwidth. We do this by reducing the size of the data that

you send between office locations and improving the way that machines at those

locations speak to each other over the WAN.

When locations send the same information to each other over and over again, it creates unecessary

traffic and devours bandwidth. The WOC deduplicates this data so that only unique information is

sent over the WAN; saving 30%-80% of your bandwidth.

The farther that data has to travel, the higher the latency and packet-loss rate. The WOC drastically

reduces the congestion and packet-loss that often result from TCP/IP over a long distance.

Many applications have their own special language for sending data. Sangfors WOC understands

those langauges for major applications like Exchange, Sharepoint, SAP, Oracle, Citrix, and RDP,

allowing it to make those apps much more efficient over a WAN.

The WOC lets you prioritize bandwidth for business-critical applications and assign lower priorities

to non-essential traffic. This ensures that important jobs are completed as quickly as possible while

less important items (like Netflix or Facebook) wait a little longer.

Sometimes your biggest WAN problem is a specific program, user, or infected device. Sangfors WOC

can show your bandwidth consumption by user, subnet, and application (over 3000 apps catalogued)

to help your IT team figure out the source of the problem.
