Comply with the following precautions to avoid dangerous or illegal situations and ensure peak performance of your device.

Safety warnings :

Keep your device away from small children and pets.

Excessive exposure to sound at high volumes can cause hearing damage. Always turn the volume down before plugging the earphones into an audio source and use only the minimum volume setting necessary to hear your conversation or music.

Peak performance : Ensure that too many applications are not open at the same time. Speed of running the Quantum application will slow down.

• Turn off the device in potentially explosive environments.

• Do not use your device at refuelling points (service stations) or near fuels or chemicals. Turn off your device whenever directed by warning signs or instructions. Your device could cause explosions or fire in and around fuel or chemical storage and transfer areas or blasting areas.

• Do not store or carry flammable liquids, gases, or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories.

• While using your device, hold the device with a relaxed grip, press the keys lightly, use special features that reduce the number of keys you have to press (such as templates and predictive text), and take frequent breaks.

Precautions of handling battery

» Handle and dispose of batteries and chargers with care

» Use only Samsung-approved batteries and chargers specifically designed for your device. Incompatible batteries and chargers can cause serious injuries or damage to your device.

Service Issues

• Physical damage will not be covered under warranty.

Eg.

• Do not use the device if the screen is cracked or broken.

• Broken glass or acrylic could cause injury to your hand and face.

• Bring the device to a Samsung service centre to replace the screen.

• Damage caused by careless handling will void your manufacturer’s warranty.

• Connect your device to a computer• Connect one end (mini-USB) of the PC data cable to the

multifunction jack on your device and the other end to the USB port on your computer.

• Tap Start > Settings.• On the Basic Settings tab, tap General Settings > USB

Connection .• Active Sync and Tap Done.• NB – Please ensure that the multi function jack has the

USB symbol facing upwards while connecting it to the phone.

Soft reset

On the left hand side panel (at the bottom ) you will find a soft reset port. To reset the phone use a sharp, thin object like a pin or a toothpick and gently press into the port.

Hard reset

For hard reset go to START> settings>memory settings>Clear memory> tap on it > you will be prompted to enter a 4 digit password (default 1234)>Tap Done.

Optimal Use of Battery

Start> Settings> General settings> Power> Battery Power> You can see the battery consumption.

NB – On the same screen, you will see Back light settings. For optimal usage, ensure that you select 30 seconds to turn off the backlight and 1 minute to turn off the device.

Recommended charging time.

• To ensure better performance of the battery do not charge the battery for more than 3 hours.

• The first charge (brand new handset) while using the phone should be for 6 hours.

For better performance of the battery Go to Start> Settings> General settings> Power> Performance> For CPU performance always choose AUTO or LOW.

• Find the file QuantumAssitant.msi and double-click on it • Quantum Assistant application Installer is launched.

• Click “Yes” on to dismiss the “Unknown Publisher” notice and to continue installation on device
