PROSPECTUS 2011- 2012M.Sc (BIOINFORMATICS)SCOPE OF BIOINFORMATICS Bioinformatics is emerging as the hottest field in the last decade covering a broad area of subjects of biological sciences, physical sciences, chemical sciences, mathematical sciences, engineering and technology with computer aided tools. The field provides a wide scope for job opportunities in India and abroad as well. Bioinformatics is expected to substantially impact on scientific, engineering and economic development of the world. The last decade encompasses the full fledged growth and development of the subject in the field of science and engineering. The large size of biological datasets, the inherent complexity of biological problems and the ability to deal with error-prone data result in special requirements, such as large memory space and huge computation time. Therefore, it opens up a variety of job prospects in the field of molecular biology, proteomics, genomics, medical applications, agriculture, and engineering to attract the students after successful completion of a degree in the field. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY Any Science /Engineering/Medical or Allied Science Graduate passed as a regular student securing at least 45%marks.
