Faith & Family Formation
~B O W ~ Suggested text for faith sharing: Today’s Gospel, the short version
28 S O T W O 15, 2017
T : Only those who enter the banquet will share the reign of God.
S O : L W As you listen once again to this familiar parable, what caught your ear in it today? What image lingers in your mind from this reading?
Q C : Why is it important for you to do what Jesus asks of you?
Q Y : Each week we are invited to participate in Mass. When you are at Mass, how well do you really participate? How could you be more present in heart, mind, and spirit?
Q A : Using Jesus’ parable as your starting point, describe in your own words who will be welcome and why they will be welcome, at the eternal banquet of God.
RCIA — Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Is now the time
to complete your Sacraments? If you have been thinking of completing your sacraments; this may be the year! RCIA just started on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. The sacraments will be celebrated at the Easter Vigil on March 31, 2018. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is not only for people who want to become Catholic. It offers Faith Formation for people over the age of 16 in all stages of life. It is a process for the Unbaptized, Baptized Christians from other denominations and for Baptized Catholics who wish to complete the Sacraments of Initiation: Eucharist and/or Confirmation. Participants are introduced to the teachings, worship, and customs of Catholic life. Here are some reasons people have attended RCIA: · I wanted to complete my sacraments so I can be a Godparent. · We wanted to provide a strong Catholic foundation for our children. · I have been thinking about getting baptized and learn about the Catholic Faith. · I was baptized in another faith and felt it was time to become Catholic. · I started coming to RCIA for my mom but continued coming for myself. · I want to learn more about the Catholic Faith and why we do what we do.
If you know someone who may be interested, we encourage you to invite them to reach out to find out more. There is no obligation to commit and we are confident those who attend will grow in their faith journey. For more information, please reach out to Andrea Henry at [email protected] or call/text 973-714-6844.

October 2017 we celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Over 800 shawls have been given since he "Threads of Love" ministry began, and over 150 Baptismal Garments worn by St. Mary's babies. Many Thanks to all the dedicated women who so faithfully create these beautiful gifts of love and support. They literally pray for the recipient with every row of the shawl. Thanks also to those who support our ministry through their kind donations to help us buy the yarn. We gather in the narthex every 1st and 3rd Tuesday. Choice of Afternoon - 12:30pm or Evening - 6:30pm. New members are always welcome. We knit and crochet prayer shawls for those who are ill and for the bereaved, plus the Baptismal garments for the wee ones. Patterns, instructions and yarn are available. Thanks to the generosity of the community, we have been able to provide yarn for those who prayerfully labor creating these beautiful shawls. If you would like to support Threads of Love but cannot participate, please consider a donation to help us defray the cost of yarn. Please call or text Peg Feyl at 973-886-4001 for information or request a shawl for a friend or relative. Registration forms available in Narthex

GRAND-Parenting Ministry
T GRAND- M extends an invitation to all grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles and sponsors interested in learning how to speak about the Good News and the beauty of our Catholic faith to all members of their families and attend the six week program. The goal of this ministry is to share the faith at home and across the generations, that is, to build faith in our families by learning the teachings of the Church, living what God has shown to be true, and helping others to do the same. It is a great opportunity to energize each other so that we may take a more active role in the Church ministry of evangelizations in our families and in our parish community. The Catholic GRAND-parenting ministry began on Thursday, September 28. This six week program will meet on Thursdays at 10:30am until noon in the church Trustees room. For information, call:
