Pastoral Meanderings...
On all the Wednesdays of Lent from 6:30 – 7:30pm , St. Mary’s and all the parishes and chapels of the Archdiocese of Boston will be open for individual confession. The Archdiocese has set up a website, www.TheLightIsOnForYou.org, to help you prepare. It has videos on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, sheets on how to make a good confession, answers to frequently asked questions and more.
This past week we have enjoyed a great Feast in celebration of our Patron Saint, Patrick. We have now arrived at the 5th Sunday of Lent with Palm Sunday on the immediate horizon. We have laid to rest a wonderful and faithful minister of our parish and music ministry, Chandler Noyes. And I have now completed four days of training in the new evangelization plan for the Archdiocese of Boston, Disciples in Mission. Exciting, refreshing, sorrowful, engaging, and tiring, all at the same time. Thanks are in order to Peter Messina and the Italian Kitchen of Lawrence for the wonderful corned beef and cabbage. Ann for her delightful home-made Irish soda bread. Annette and Jeannie and Anna and Will (as well as others) for their help in set up and break down. Port Liquors of Newburyport and Pero’s Bakery of Methuen gave us great deals. And Collette and Jennifer were awesome in our Irish entertainment. Thanks to all who made this night so special. And BOO to Father Obee for running out and not offering us an Irish jig and song. He will pay. Next week is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. Once again I invite all families to join us for the Triduum of 7 and 7 and 7. Thursday and Friday and Saturday. It really is the holiest of holies. Praise God and see u round the campus. + Father B
