The Mass Book for 2020 is now open for scheduling your Mass Intentions.
Please Note - at this time Masses will be limited to 2 per family.

Our Homebound Parishioners are very important to us
and we want to make sure their spiritual needs are be-
ing met. If you, a family member or friend are home-
bound and unable to attend Mass, we would like to
bring the Eucharist to you. We will set up a time and
helper, canned tomatoes and chili, boxed potatoes,
boxed pasta and rice, spaghetti sauce. Containers of tea
and hot cocoa mixes are always welcome. Non-
perishable donations can be placed in marked baskets
located in our Trinity Vestibule. For those that don’t
like to shop - Cash donations or grocery gift cards can
be dropped off at the parish office. Blessings!

Music Ministry & Liturgy Notes By Angela Kovic
Director of Music and Liturgy
FUNERAL BLESSINGS
Like a weekend Mass, a funeral mass has the reading,
Eucharist, and general structure of Catholic worship, but
there are two parts added to specifically honor the deceased.
The first comes right before the beginning of the mass.
When the family and deceased arrive at the church, they are
met by the priest at the entrance of the Church. Here, the
priest will sprinkle the casket with holy water and a white
pal is placed on top by family and or friends. This is to rec-
ognize the person’s initiation into the church through Bap-
tism, and the pal symbolizes the white outfit that they would
wear during the sacrament.
The second addition to a funeral mass is called the Final
Commendation. This happens after the celebration of Com-
munion, and is the official ‘good bye’ to the soul of the de-
ceased. The body or cremains is incensed, and a song of
farewell is sung by everyone attending. The text is espe-
cially fitting as the incense rises up: ‘May the angels lead
you into paradise, may the martyrs welcome you and take
you to the holy city: the new and eternal Jerusalem.’ After
this family and friends will follow the deceased out of the
church and go on their way to the burial. The funeral mass is
a beautiful and reverent sending for our Christian brothers
and sisters to their next chapter, and can bring peace to
those who still remain on this earth.
Choir Rehearsal Schedules: Traditional Choir meets to re-
hearse on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm. If you are interested
in participating in choir, cantoring, or playing an instrument
during mass, please call or see Mrs. Angela Kovic after
mass up in the loft. The Music Ministry office number
