The Finance Council is looking for volunteer adults to count the collection on Sundays. We
are hoping for 8 two person teams. Each week the counting team rotates so once we are fully staffed, you would be asked to count about once every 2 months. The counting starts around 10:30 AM and is usually finished by 12:30 PM.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Rectory at 978-352-2024. We will need a completed CORI form and approval from the Finance Council & Pastor.

At our February meeting, our speaker will be Deacon Chuck Hall who was ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of Boston in Sept of 2014 and serves in the Peabody parishes of St. John the Baptist and St Thomas the Apostle. He and his wife, Mary, live in Row-ley and are both cursillistas, having lived their weekend in 2008. Deacon Chuck has a varied background. He has been a songwriter, radio broadcaster, evangelical, dedicated Orthodox Presbyterian and a convert to the Catholic Church. Hmmm, perhaps he'll share a song with us?? January 24 – Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Re-read today’s Gospel. Put yourself in the scene: you’re in the synagogue, perhaps your family is beside you. Jesus, the carpenter’s son, gets up to read - He is the lector. The carpenter’s son, reads a passage from the great prophet Isaiah about the promise of the Messiah and then he stuns the assembly: “Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” What do you think about this? What do you do when you leave the synagogue? What
do you talk about with townspeople or other fishermen the next day at work?

By now, all registered parishioners should have received an email asking you to complete the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) survey, designed and administered by the Catholic Leadership Institute. Please check your SPAM for it as well. The DMI is a tool created to help people reflect on their personal spiritual growth and identify the ways in which the parish effectively supports that growth. The results will give me, our councils, and the plan writing team valuable input as we draft the local plans that each collaborative is required to create. The survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and is completely confidential. Electronically it is currently open and continues to accept responses through Ash Wednesday. Please give us some input. For those who are not registered but frequent our parish, or those not technologically gifted, paper copies of the survey will be available at the entrance to the churches. Please complete them and return them to the parish office by hand or mail, or give them to me in the sacristy before or after Masses. They will not be reviewed by anyone here in the parish but sealed and forwarded to the Catholic Leadership Institute for compilation. Our introduction and training in the Disciples in Mission evangelization plan begins this week. Ideally, all council members and staff would attend each and every session. I know this to be impossible. So Parish Council members please let Dr. Hahn know of your intentions. Finance Council members please let Mr. Parisi know of your intentions. St. Mary staff, please inform Julie. I will be leaving from the Georgetown parking lot at 5pm on Tuesday. We can gather 10 minutes before for anyone interested in forming car pools. Or see you in Chelmsford! Have a great week!
