Please e-mail all information to the church office at [email protected]From the Pastor Summer provides us with an opportunity to refresh our bodies, minds, and spirits with vacations, rest, recreation, travel, and time with family…all of which is very important…but this often occurs at the expense of weekly worship and time in God’s word. As you travel this summer and make your weekend plans, I encourage you to make worship part of your week. In addition, there are several opportunities in July to be in God’s word together: July 15-16 (Saturday 4:00 – 7:00 / Sunday 11:15 – 2:00) we will offer an intergenerational Vacation Bible School. Through games, crafts, music, with puppets, food, and fellowship, we will study the parable of the Sower. Meals will be provided each day; a nursery will be provided; and there will be an adult Bible study component. This is a wonderful opportunity to be in the word together and to build relationships with one another. Also, beginning in July, in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation the synod’s Reformation 500 and Book of Faith Task Groups are pleased to present an online summer Bible study—Reformers Reading Romans—with lessons by Lutherans from all over NC. Romans influenced Luther’s spiritual development and pointed him to God’s undeserved and life-changing grace. Join us as we learn about Romans and each other through this study. Access the study in three ways: • Follow the synod’s Facebook page (NC Synod, ELCA) beginning July 9. • Download it in its entirety from the synod’s “Engage the Bible” or “Reformation 500” web page. See links below. • Or, subscribe to receive a daily email with a link to that day’s lesson. Subscribe to Reformers Reading Romans from the “Engage the Bible” or “Reformation 500” web pages. LINKS: https://nclutheran.org/congregations/engage-the-bible/ https://nclutheran.org/reformation-500/ And for families with children, Sparkhouse Family is offering a summer reading program. The topic for July is “Road Trip.” I will email the link to families as soon as it is available. In Christ, Pastor Tony
