We, the people of St. Clare Catholic Parish, In the Diocese of
Belleville, are called by God
in baptism to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Centered in the
Eucharist, and strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we
strive to live
the Gospel and further the reign of God. We do this by creating
a vibrant faith
community, by actively promoting justice and evangelization, and
by using our gifts in the service of God’s people, to give God
glory and reverence all of Creation.

Merry Christmas! This holy season always lifts my heart with a
joyful Spirit as I see the children filled with expectation…and the
adults counting their blessings and re-centering themselves in God
and family. Especially this year, it seems that people are more
‘sentimental’ and grateful…even in the midst of many challenges
people are facing. I especially want to thank all of you who are
being ex-tra generous to your parish and families in need with the
recent requests for donations. I express particular thanks to those
who have donated to our special “Christmas / End-of-the-year”
envelope that will help us keep our parish ministries going strong
to serve the needs of our parishioners and the bigger communi-ty.
We can never out-do God’s generosity to us! And being generous with
what we have been given… ex-pands our hearts with joy and peace.
When I look at the little Manger scene in my house and think about
the miracle of God becoming a human like us, it can be overwhelming
to consider how gen-erous and loving God ‘poured forth’ His love
for us in Jesus. May you find time to sit with the Manger in your
home and let yourself be wrapped in His immense love for you.
Christmas Peace be with you, Fr. Jim Deiters
