First LadySpeakThe German Nite was a very interesting experience. I had the opportunity of knowing the history of Germany through the presentation made by the German Consul. The dance by the German Students as well as the song rendered by them impressed me with the rapidity at which they have understood the Indian theme and they way in which they could present it. The German cuisine was delicious and I really enjoyed it. During October I accompanied the District Governor during the official visits to clubs. During the GOV to Pavagada and Madhugiri I could visit the ancient temples and have a darshan. Likewise the temple visit to Kalahasti was also very interesting and the influence of the Navagrahas on the humans was certainly a unique experience. It was very nice to notice that there are several temples in Rajrajeshwarinagar, Bangalore. Although we have been residing in Bangalore, it is a rare sight for us to see so many temples in one single area.

Dear Rotary Leaders,

Myself and my wife Ann.Srimathi hope that all of you had a joyous Deepavali & Dhanteras.

Last month witnessed variety of activities under the avenue of Vocational Service. The ICGF on Vocational Service coupled with the entrepreneurship programme was a grand success and was well attended. The classification exhibition organized concurrently with the ICGF, for the first time, at the district level was well received by all the Rotarians. My congratulations to Rtn. Nagendra K S, Director Vocational Services and his team for the excellent work.

The RUSI award for the best Innovative SME had its Pioneering start during October. The selection process was carried out in a professional manner and I compliment the Rotary Udyog and the standards International for intiating this award.

Many Rotary clubs in the district have carried out several programmes in the field of Vocational services which have been well received. I acknowledge the efforts of the clubs and I thank them.

Gandhi Jayanthi has been celebrated with Sarvodaya International Trust and Bangalore Doordarshan. This was a very good musical programme and entire programme was telecast live, the image of the Rotary as a service organization was well projected.

The German Nite coinciding with the German National Day depicted the integration of Indian and German culture and the Indian dance by the German students studying in Bangalore was very impressive and well appreciated by the audience.

We have finalized the selection of GSE team members for the outgoing two GSE teams to USA. My congratulations to Flt. Lt. K P Nagesh and his team.

The Roto Green Golf Tournament and the Cricket Tournament conducted during October had an excellent fellowship among the participating Rotarians and I saw every one enjoying thoroughly. This is real Rotary spirit.

The inter-district AIDS awareness programme at Mandya was a well thought out programme and was executed very well. My congratulations to both the district teams. The Polio awareness programme has started in right earnest.
