Catholics Please Vote! Catholics Please Vote! Catholics Please Vote! Catholics Please Vote! Faithful citizenship is an important part of Catholic teaching, and we exercise that via our right to vote. To help Catholics fulfill this responsibility, the

Kansas Catholic Conference is sponsoring a nonpartisan voter registration drive. As you are aware, this is an important election year. Every Kansas State Representative and State Senator office will be on the ballot. One of the most effective ways to ensure fair and just public policy (laws) is by electing people into office who share Catholic values and the ultimate goal of serving the common good. Exercising the privilege and responsibility to vote is similar to Catholic participation in initiatives like “being counted” in the 2020 Census. These activities demonstrate our full and rightful participation in the culture where we live and work. In our government, the people are sovereign over the government and exercise this by voting. The great Catholic philosopher Orestes Brownson once said that if even a minority of Catholics exercised their faithful citizenship, they could steer our culture away from tyranny and toward the common good.
