LIVE THE LITURGY
Inspiration for the week
Think for a moment about the most special
person in your life. Why do you love them?
Many people will answer that question noting
character traits they admire about the person,
pointing to an indescribable compatibility that
exists and describing a deep sense of connection
and intimacy or even a sense of rightness about
the relationship. In relationships that are authentic
and true, rarely are the personal benefits gained
from the relationship noted as motivating factors
for its pursuit. If we truly love someone we do so
simply because it is right and good to do so and
not for some other self-serving reason. Why do
you love God? The sense of happiness and the gift
of mercy that come from that relationship are
God’s to give, regardless of when in life we come
to Him. God’s ways are different than ours.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process through which adults become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. The RCIA is based on a lifelong faith formation model. There are
several stages involved in the process beginning with a period of inquiry to find out more about Catholicism. As individuals are ready, the parish celebrates certain rites (rituals) that signify the end of one stage and the beginning of another. Please come join Deacon Jim Lonick starting Tuesday, September 29 in the Center Upper Conference Room to complete your journey in joining the Catholic Church. Please call Lori Mathwich at 715-526-4104 to register and if you have any questions. Classes are Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm.

On Friday, September 11 as part of the Sacred Heart Cardinal Athletics opening night volleyball matches at home against St. James Lutheran, Sacred Heart held their 7th annual Salute to Service Ceremony in our parking lot honoring all Veterans along with a 9/11 Tribute. It was a beautiful moment where two schools came together with the Shawano AMVETS to support something bigger than sports. The singing of our National Anthem was sung beautifully by three Sacred Heart students, Hannah Yeager, Alynn Fowler-Doxtator, and Athena Ghent, and a prayer and blessing was offered from Father Scott. The school was blessed to once again have the Veterans include the Presentation of Colors and Taps. Students also had the privilege of presenting all visiting veterans with a meal coupon donated from our local Perkins. Thank you to Scott Marohl for once again organizing our beautiful ceremony, and thank you to all of the Veterans who joined us. God Bless America!
