Though the gear pump is extremely simple in its operating principle, the fundamental understanding of the instantaneous pump flow has been a subject of considerable interest for many years. Objective of this experiment is to build a test rig to have study on hydraulic gear pump performance. In order to study the performance characteristics on experimental investigation for the performance of the gear pump with different experimental parameters. Post Graduate Project: Experimental & Numerical Studies on Instabilities of Flame Propagation in Small Scale Three Stepped Backward Facing Combustor (IIT Powai, Mumbai) Flame instabilities in small scale stepped combustor (quartz) were experimentally investigated for a range of equivalence ratios (Φ= 0.6-1.3) and inlet velocities (1-8m/s) at atmospheric conditions for premixed LPG-air mixtures. The experiments were carried out without and with heat re-circulation (HR) processes, wherein different stable and unstable flame propagation are observed. Flame instabilities like X-flame on third step of combustor, repetitive extinction and re-ignition instability (FREI) and stable conical flame are observed without heat recirculation. With heat recirculation case, flame instabilities like pulsating flame, rotating conical flame and X-flame on second and third step of combustor are observed. Above results are theoretically verified using ANSYS (Fluent) software.
