Vanderbilt is currently on a 4-game losing streak, so both teams
will be working to stop a late-season skid. The Commodores have
been plagued with several season-ending injuries throughout the
year, including sophomore Brinae Alexander who was their leading
scorer at the time of her Achilles injury.
Freshman forward Koi Love leads the team with 13.6 points per
game, while Mariella Fasoula averages 13.0 points per game.
Chelsie Hall leads the team with 98 assists and scores 10.5 points
per game.
Head coach Stephanie White was named Vanderbilt’s fi ft h head
coach in program history in May 2016.

Kay Yow Challenge
The LSU women’s basketball, men’s basketball and gymnastics teams are
uniting with the Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center
to raise $100,000 for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The fundraising program
will be part of the annual Play4Kay campaign, the largest fundraising
initiative of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
Funds will be raised through a pledge program. Both basketball teams
are asking fans to make a pledge for every free throw made at each of
their games in the month of February. Gymnastics fans can make a pledge
for every team event with a score of 49.00 or higher during their cancer
awareness meets on January 17 vs. Auburn and February 16 vs. Kentucky.

When the $100,000 goal is reached, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will forward
a $150,000 grant to the Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer
Center. The monies raised will be returned to the Baton Rouge community
to benefi t the underserved population with cancer services in Baton
Rouge and surrounding parishes.
The vision of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is to be the premier non-profi t
organization dedicated to supporting innovative ways of fi ghting ALL
cancers aff ecting women and providing support through giving strength,
courage, and hope.

• Island Queens: LSU brought home the title for the Bimini Division
of the 2019 Junkanoo Jam with wins over No. 15 Michigan State,
58-56, and Memphis, 89-58. Khayla Pointer was named the Most
Valuable Player, while Ayana Mitchell was also named to the All-
Tournament team.
• In the Polls: LSU has received votes in both polls at diff erent
times this season.
The Tigers made a brief appearance in the Associate Press Top 25
poll the week of Dec. 2, joining the poll at No. 25, following the
Junkanoo Jam championship. It is the fi rst time LSU had been in
the poll since the end of the 2017-18 season.
LSU is 5-4 against Top 25 teams this season. LSU is also one of three
SEC teams with a win this season over a non-conference, ranked
opponent. The other two teams are South Carolina and Tennessee.

NCAA Tournament in 2019 with Florida State and Michigan State
advancing to the Second Round. Little Rock, Rutgers, Florida Gulf
Coast and potential opponent Kansas State all played in the First
Round. Little Rock and Florida Gulf Coast each won their respective
conference titles.
• Khayla Pointer leads the Tigers in trips to the free throw
line. Pointer is 40th in the nation and 3rd in SEC in free throws
attempted (150) and is 54th in the NCAA in free throws made

• Junior Khayla Pointer earned her 800th point as a Tiger on February
2 against Texas A&M and is 24 points away from reaching 900. She
made the 100th steal of her LSU career at Oklahoma on December
7 and her 300th career assist on Feb. 13 against Tennessee. She
grabbed the 200th rebound of her career on December 19 at Florida
Gulf Coast.
• Pointer posted a career night on December 19 at Florida Gulf
Coast with the second double-double of her career. Pointer scored
a career-high 30 points, 20 in the second half of the 74-63 victory.
Her 11 rebounds were also a career-high and her fi rst points-
rebounds double-double. She was four assists away from a triple-
double in her fourth game of the season with 5 or more assists.
• Junior Faustine Aifuwa earned her 600th career point against
No. 11 Kentucky on January 19 and is two points away from scoring
No. 700. She recorded the 100th blocked shot of her LSU career on
December 19 against Florida Gulf Coast, making her the 8th Tiger to
reach the 100-career mark. Aifuwa grabbed the 500th rebound of
her career on February 10 against Missouri.
• Jaelyn Richard-Harris became the second LSU player to play in the
100th game of their LSU career during the 2019-20 season. Richard-
Harris earned that court time on January 5, 2020 at Missouri. Ayana
Mitchell played in her 100th game in the Purple & Gold on November
29 vs. Michigan State.
• Freshman Tiara Young hit some rare LSU territory in her collegiate
debut on November 5 against UNO. Young started the game and
became the fi rst LSU player to come close to scoring 20 points in
their collegiate debut since 2002. She had 19 points, the closest

anyone has come to matching another Louisiana native who
scored 27 against Arizona in her collegiate debut in 2002, LSU
legend Seimone Augustus.
• Senior Ayana Mitchell recorded a consecutive fi eld goals made
streak of 21 in a row during the 2019-20 season. She did not miss
a shot from her last two fi eld goals vs. Memphis on November
30, went 9-for-9 versus Nicholls on December 3 and 10-for-10 at
Oklahoma on December 7.
This is believed to be the most by a Tiger player in the history of the
program. Research is on-going. The NCAA record is 33, set by Ruthy
Hebard of Oregon from Feb. 9-19, 2018 against 4 opponents.
