Those of us who have been around long enough may remember the weekday trips to the resort. The trips were a great break in the middle of the week for our members to ski the closest ski resort to San Diego. Single day trips are also less expensive than the three-day trips and require much less planning. XTC Tours will provide the trip travel for the first Big Bear trip to determine club support for the mid-week trips. The cost last year was $116, this year the cost is TBD (Lift ticket and transportation will be included in the price.) The date for the Big Bear trip has not been set yet so talk it up with your friends and family. We already have a number of people who want to go. I will keep the club updat- ed on the status of the trip schedule and pricing. I will also provide a map to the pickup points. Here is the Itinerary: A deluxe bus pickup at 5:30am at 5770 Morehouse Drive at one of the Qualcomm build- ings off Mira Mesa Blvd. A second pick-up in Escondido at the North Broadway park and ride lot #11 off Lincoln Parkway will be scheduled if there are anyone from North County. The bus leaves the mountain at 4pm and will arrive in SD around 8pm. The bus will provide a cold bever- age and a Subway deli meal (extra $) while a movie will be played on the return trip. The Big Bear trips were an early part of our club and provided our members with great skiing entertainment. I realize that not everyone can make a mid-week trip but please take time and let me know if you are interested in the concept ([email protected]). Joint Happy Hour - North Island & Action Ski
Clubs
Many members of NI & Action Ski Clubs
met at the new Stone Brewery in Liberty Station
for a joint get-together to enjoy friendship & liba-
tions. Over 65 club members joined together for
this event. Many ordered delicious meals and
snacks from the exotic menu.
We had so much fun that we are planning
to get-together again in October.
