Sales Management Comments

The Round Up is one of the rare opportunities for producers to get a jump start on their bull buying needs as it is one of the few annual December bull sales. Quality and reputation have gathered a solid repeat customer base. But it isn’t just a bull sale, there is a very top set of females joining the bull contingent that do need to be considered by the savviest of buyers.

The largest group comes from Ricochet Stock Farms that includes a group of 2014 bull calves that I can honestly say are jaw-dropping! It was absolutely impressive to see these “horses” pre-weaned nearly as big as their mothers! Highly productive cowherd here!

The Okofleck Group, from Dr. Ted Shacklady and Brian Miller, have earned a very loyal repeat customer following. Largely in part for sev-eral reasons that include the high quality business ethics and customer service, and good proven genetics in the cowherd base combined with a great walking herdbull battery.

Parview Stock Farm has a nice blended string of 5 bulls coming that are Fullbloods and Blacks including a sale feature in the latter mentioned blacks. Vernon Properties and Mike Imler’s M.I. Simmentals have about 5 bred heifers combined from them both that would be lead off females at any sale in the country.

Bull Wintering ProgramAll buyers have the option of having their yearling bulls wintered. Yearling bulls purchased for $3,000 and over will be wintered at no cost. Yearling bulls purchased for less than $3,000 will be wintered for $4.00/day. Pick up and delivery by April 1st. Bulls to be wintered require insurance.

If a bull fails the semen test or has a structural problem, the purchase price will be refunded, not a sale credit given.

Here’s a bull that keeps getting better every day. He’s a very deep bodied, loose hided bull with tons of hair. He’s the last of our Heavyweight calves as we lost the bull last year to a freak accident and we were never able to collect any semen. We calved our first Heavyweight daughters last year and were very happy (except for some bad luck having two of them die). This bull’s full sister sold to Eagle Ridge Simmentals (Bryce division) and they have had nothing but excellent reports on her. Here’s the first of our KOP Trackerson 190Z sons, a bull we own with Pioneer Simmentals and was purchased as the high selling black bull at Kopp’s bull sale in 2013.
