Cheese-Fare Sunday – ΚΥΡΙΑΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΤΗΡΙΝΗΣ The Exile of Adam from
the Paradise of Bliss
The Holy Martyr Evdokia from Samaria
ΑΠΟΛΥΤΙΚΙA ΤΗΣ ΗΜΕΡΑΣ – DISMISSAL HYMNS OF THE DAY
Apolytikion of the Fourth Tone Τὸ φαιδρὸν τῆς Ἀναστάσεως
When they had learned the joyful proclamation of the
Resurrection from the Angel, and that
the ancestral condemnation was cast away, the women disciples of
the Lord spoke to the Apos-
tles exultantly: Death is despoiled and Christ God is risen,
granting to the world the great mer-
cy.
Apolytikion of the Holy Taxiarchs Τῶν οὐρανίων στρατιῶν
Supreme Commanders of the heavenly armies, we the unworthy
beseech and implore you,
that by your supplications you encircle us under the cover of
the wings of your ineffable glory;
guarding us who bow down with fervor crying: From dangers
deliver us, as Leaders of the
Powers above.
Apolytikion of St. Haralambos Ὡς στῦλος ἀκλόνητος, τῆς Ἐκκλησίας
As a pillar unshakable of the Church of Christ, and an
ever-radiant lamp to the universe,
were you, O wise Haralambos; you illumined the world through
martyrdom; you dispelled the
moonless night of the idols, O Blessed One. Therefore with
boldness before Christ, intercede
that we may be saved.
ΚΟΝΤΑΚΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΗΜΕΡΑΣ – KONTAKION OF THE DAY
O Master, Guide to wisdom, Giver of prudent counsel, Instructor
of the foolish and Champi-
on of the poor, make firm my heart and grant it understanding.
Give me words, Word of the
Father, for behold, I shall not stop my lips from crying out to
You: I am fallen, in Thy compas-
sion have mercy on me.

of the first day of Great Lent. It is a fitting and beautiful way
to begin our Lenten journey. Forgiveness Vespers will begin at 6:30
pm.

Christians in this annual commemoration of the restoration of the

like to help organize our Fest this year? Do you have some ideas
about how to improve our Fest? We are seeking persons to be a Food
Fest Co-Chairperson and other members of the Festival Board! If you
are interested, please contact our parish council president, Mr.
Richard Kozlowski.
HOW TO RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION—Orthodox Christians in good
standing are encouraged to receive Holy Communion frequently,
provided they have prepared themselves spiritually, mentally and
physically. They must be on time for the Divine Liturgy, and be in
a Christ-like, calm state of mind. They should be in a confession
relationship with their priest or spiritual father, and they should
have self-examined their conscience. On the day of receiving Holy
Communion, it is not proper to eat or drink anything before coming
to church. When you approach to receive Holy Communion, state your
Christian (baptismal) name clearly, and hold the red communion
cloth to your chin. After receiving, wipe your lips on the cloth,
step back carefully, hand the cloth to the next person and make the
sign of the Cross as you step away. Please take special care not to
bump the Holy Chalice.
STEWARDSHIP CHALLENGE! Information about our 2020 Stewardship
Program has now been mailed out. When you make your stewardship
commitment, please accept the challenge to be generous and
courageous. We urge you to use your STEWARDSHIP OF TIME, then
consider a monthly commit-ment of $100. This is what is needed to
cover our needs and it is realistic for most stewards! Let your
stewardship level be an amount that reflects your growing love of
God and your appreciation for the blessings and benefits we derive
from our Church!

uplifting ex-perience. If you are visiting St. Haralambos or are
new to our community, please seek out our ushers if you have any
questions.
CYBERCRIME More recently, parishes and religious communities
around us are being tar-geted by a phishing scam where the attacker
poses falsely as the parish priest and asks the recipient for money
usually in the form of gift cards. Fr. Dean, Fr. George, Deacon
John, or anyone in parish leadership would never reach out to you
by e-mail to request immediate finan-cial assistance. If you
receive this kind of mes-sage: do not reply to it; do not click on
any links; do not share any personal financial infor-mation. If you
do receive an e-mail like this, contact your parish
immediately.
ANNOUNCEMENTS OUR NEW KIOSK! We have installed a kiosk in the
hallway between the church and the church office! This Kiosk will
make it easy to donate to our church and its ministries at any

Please turn off cell-phones and video games during Church

distractions of life and focus on God. Thank you!

EPISTLE READING
Romans 13: 11-14:4
BRETHREN, salvation is nearer to us now than when we first
believed; the
night is far gone, the day is at hand. Let us then cast off the
works of darkness
and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves
becomingly as in the
day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and
licentiousness, not
in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and make no pro-
vision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. As for the man who
is weak in faith,
welcome him, but not for disputes over opinions. One believes he
may eat any-
thing, while the weak man eats only vegetables. Let not him who
eats despise
him who abstains, and let not him who abstains pass judgment on
him who
eats; for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on
the servant
of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls.
And he will be up-
held, for God is able to make him stand.
GOSPEL READING
Matthew 6: 14-21
The Lord said, "If you forgive men their trespasses, your
heavenly Father also
will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their
trespasses, neither will
your Father forgive your trespasses. "And when you fast, do not
look dismal,
like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their
fasting may be seen
by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
But when you fast,
anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not
be seen by men
but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in
secret will re-
ward you. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and
rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up
for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and
where thieves
do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there
will your heart be
also."
