Upcoming October Sermon Series
2020 has been something. A global pandemic… quarantine, economic
shutdown, and social distancing… racial tension and protests across
our country… a coin shortage. And throw in heightened political
tensions and contentious presidential election year and you have a
hot mess. Some people are wondering if any of this is the
fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. Some of my ministry friends and I
have been talking about this and are planning to work together on a
sermon series that we are each planning to preach at our individual
churches. I’m excited to study and prepare for this series along
with Seth Widner (Southside Christian), Doug Wesley (Hopewell
Baptist), and Trent Baker (Magnolia Street Christian). The series
will be rooted in Matthew chapter 24 (the Olivet Discourse) where
the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of His return.
Here are the dates and topics we have planned so far… October
18th “Signs of the Times” October 25th “Rapture vs Second Coming”
November 1st “The Tribulation” November 8th “The Eternal Kingdom”
No one knows the hour of the Lord’s return, but I do believe God
wants His children to know the season. Could the Lord’s return be
near? Join us in a few weeks as we take a look at what the Bible
reveals and consider how it may apply to the times in which we are
living.
All for Jesus,
Greg

Next Steps Class is scheduled for: Sunday, October 11, 5 PM. It
is so wonderful to see so many lives being transformed by the power
Jesus Christ, even in these very challenging times we find
ourselves living in today. Speaking of the transforming power of
Christ, would you like to know what it means to be a Christ
follower and/or a member of The Carpenter’s Christian Church? Would
you like to have a general idea of the ministries of the church
and/or how God has uniquely designed you to serve Him in one or
more of these ministries? If you answered “yes” to one or more of
these questions, you may want to sign up for the “Next Steps”
class, led by our Senior Minister, Greg Warren, and I. This is an
informal two-session class and a perfect time to answer any
questions you may have. The “Next Steps” class also includes a
ministry gifts assessment, helping participants to more clearly
understand how God has designed them for service in His Kingdom.
For October, the first session is scheduled for Sunday, October 11,
5 PM. Please enter through the doors in the church office area. If
you plan to attend, please let Greg or myself know as we will look
forward to seeing you at the “Next Steps” class!
This season has certainly tested our perseverance and patience.
New ways to manage our on-going missions has been a challenge but
with the Faithful Servants at TCCC, God’s plan marches on. The
regular annual Haven Care Banquet had to held virtually; if you
have pledged in the past or wish to make your first love offering,
you can still do so through The Carpenter’s Christian Church or to
Haven Care Pregnancy Center directly. This fund raiser is HUGE for
the success of the Center staying available and open. Please be in
prayer on how you might cease the opportunity to support LIFE in
the Name of Our Lord. As always, the need of diapers and wipes and
gently use or new children’s clothing through 12 months is needed.
You will find a mission basket in the main foyer of TCCC. You may
contact the Center at 859-236-9282 if you have a crib or stroller
or such to make arrangements to share.
Need information or help with a donation, give me a call! Linda

Students desperately need it. You may be wondering what I am
talking about? They need “Community”; in a desperate way. You may
know, we kicked off our 20/21 year for Life Groups in September. We
were shocked to see how students reacted when they walked into
the church building that first night back. You could see the
starvation of peer relationships that were ripped from them back in
March when the shutdown happened. We are happy they could find what
they were looking for at church; community. If you have a 6th-12th
grade student, we would love for them to get involved in our
Student Ministry on Wednesday nights. Currently we are going
through a series titled, “what can HE do?” The foundation verse of
the series is Ephesians 3:20, “He can do immeasurably more…” We
would love to see your student on Wednesday night for a time of
Worship, Fellowship, and Food! If you have any questions, please
feel free to contact us in the Student Ministry. I am excited to
announce that on the 28th of October, we are having Family Night at
Devine’s! Years past, we have had our Children and Student
Ministries enjoy a night at Divines Corn Maze, but this year we
would love for the whole family to join! Be on the lookout in the
coming weeks for more information. We are asking that you don’t
drop of your student, but instead, stay and enjoy the fellowship.
We have special things planned and think this can be a special
night for all! As you can tell, there are many things that we are
excited for in the Student Ministry at TCCC. We hope that you, as a
parent, are not only involved in church on Sunday morning, but also
taking it to the next level with your Student throughout the week!
Here’s to another great month!
Stacy Davis, Children’s Ministry Director

I can say, it has been good for us all to be back worshipping
together again. We have been averaging around 35-40 children each
Sunday morning and we couldn’t be more thrilled as a Children’s
Ministry. We have missed these children and have thoroughly enjoyed
getting to see them, worship with them, and spend time in God’s
Word with them. We have room for more and want to invite all
children back to worship with us on Sunday mornings.
October 4th will be our first Sunday to return to KIDS Church
during the 8:30 a.m. service. Kids church will be available during
the 8:30 service and we ask all children and parents to follow the
same guidelines for 8:30 a.m. service that we you do during the
11:00 service. We recommend that children wear a mask while
attending KIDS church and temperature checks are required. Our
volunteers will be doing the same. We want to keep your child
healthy and safe while attending KIDS church. We will be meeting
for 8:30 a.m. KIDS church in the 2nd room upstairs in the gym. TEAM
KID update – I am excited to share that we will be starting our
TEAM KID Wednesday night ministry on Wednesday, October 14th. This
is a ministry for children ages preschool – 5th grade. We serve the
children supper, have large group/worship time, and break out into
small groups where children hear a lesson on their level with a
small group leader. Many of you have asked when we’ll begin
Wednesday night TEAM KID again and I am very excited to tell you
that we are back starting October 14th. We ask that all students be
checked in by an adult on the 14th, wear masks or face coverings,
and have a temperature check before signing in. All guidelines that
we follow on Sunday morning, will be followed Wednesday night, as
well. The volunteers will also be wearing masks and have
temperature checks. If you have any questions, please feel free to
see me, email me, or find one of our Wednesday night volunteers for
more information. We are working hard to update our database with
student/family information. We want to make sure that we have all
the information right for your child and that it is up to date. If
you haven’t registered your child or it has been some time since
you have updated their information in our system, please visit
http://carpenterschristian.church/registermychild . We would love
for you to make sure your student’s information is up to date and
accurate for our system. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday,
October 28th. We will be having a Family Fun night at Devine’s Corn
Maze from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. We will have a time of fellowship, food,
and great Christian fun. We will have someone speak/share God’s
word, enjoy some good food, and grab a hayride, and a pumpkin
before heading home for the night. We would love to invite our
children, student ministry, small groups, and their families out
for the night and some great Fall fun!

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the
world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled,
neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
In a global season of loss, fear, and uncertainty, God is
inviting us into a deeper trust in Him. We are not forgotten. We
are not abandoned. God is ever-present, even in the midst of all
our
struggles and doubts.
As the world is overshadowed by COVID-19, creating space for
peace does not come easily. Everywhere we look we are presented
with reasons to be fearful, and reasons to question whether or not
things will be okay. Yet in the midst of the chaos and the noise,
there is an invitation to experience the peace of God that
“surpasses all understanding.” We can
accept God’s promise of peace today through prayer.
Prayer at times may sound intimidating or overwhelming, but it
is simply a conversation with God. God loves to talk to His
children. He wants to talk to you. He wants to know how you feel.
But in order for that conversation to happen, you need to know how
you feel. You need to see and confirm the reality of
any stress, fear, and anxiety.
The path to experiencing peace begins with a conversation with a
loving God that cares for you. Talk with Him today and
let Him know how you feel.
May you be encouraged by these words today . . and experience
His Promised Peace.

Dolls Of
HOPE TCCC Dolls of HOPE continue to make dolls for children in
Harrodsburg and Danville hospitals, Family Protective Services, and
the Harrodsburg Police Department. We use donated and leftover
fabric to make quilts for Haven Care Pregnancy Center, MCES,
Galilean Home, and Thompson VA Center. We are always in need of
100% cotton fabric for the dolls and quilts. We also are continuing
to ask for help with the knitted or loomed toboggans that will help
those in need during the cold winter months. We now have a bin in
the Mission cabinet near the front entrance to place donations of
cotton fabric and yarn. We will continue to collect canned goods
and non-perishable food items for the Christian Life Center
throughout the year. Donations can be placed in the Mission’s bin
or delivered to the church office weekdays from 8-4pm office hours.
There was a great turn out for September, with 10 in attendance
tying fleece blankets. We also delivered several quilts and fabric
to the Galilean Home. We also took 10 baby quilts to Haven Care
Center. Meeting times will be going back to our regular schedule
for quilts on the first Monday 10am of each month through December.
Dolls will be on the fourth Tuesdays at 10 am through October. Come
out and join us We can not meet in the way we once did but it will
be so good to see each of you in person. Completely understand if
you are not comfortable joining us. We want each of you to feel
safe and stay healthy.

SPIRIT LIFTERS Spirit Lifters Today is a new day! Fall is
in the air! I miss seeing everyone and
hope every day is a blessing for you!
We are now going into October and we
will not be able to get together as a group. Praying we all
stay
well during these times. When we all get together what a day
of rejoicing that will be!
Blessings Joanne
Thank you to everyone who put together and donated a shoebox for
Operation Christmas Child drive. Because of you, children around
the world with be introduced to Christ! We will continue to accept
donations and shoeboxes through October. We are continuing our
on-going collections, so if you have any donations they can be
dropped off in the bins in the lobby. At this time, we are asking
specifically for hygiene items for the Christian Life Center and
Haven Care. Thank you for your donations and continued support of
these missions!
Please continue to be in prayer for our missionaries who are
spreading the gospel!

It is our mission through NEXT to make an impact and reach young
adults within our area in need of Christ like community every week.
Being a young adult, especially in 2020, can be challenging. Don’t
miss out on an opportunity to grow in your faith and connect with
others. If you or someone you know is interested, please don’t
hesitate to join us this weekend or ask any questions. I ask that
you also continue to pray for our ministry and those involved,
asking God to move in the hearts of young adults all across
Kentucky.
We miss our ladies! We miss every sweet smile, every warm hug.
We miss the fellowship and the camaraderie of our time together. We
miss our monthly
meetings and our Bible Study time. If 2020 has taught us
anything it’s taught us to appreciate each other! We are so excited
to announce that we were having a fall Bible study. Woo-hoo! We
think this study will be very timely because Max Lucado completed
his newest book, “Never Alone”, during the quarantine. With
chapters like, “We Can’t, but God Can”, and “He Will Replenish What
Life Has Taken”, helps us know this study is going to be great! Our
plan is to have our first meeting on Sunday, October 18th at 6:30.
It will just be a get-together to chat and check in with everyone.
We plan to begin the Bible study on Sunday, October 25th at 6:30.
It is a six-week study so we will finish on November 29th. We will
be meeting Sunday evenings in the old sanctuary where we will have
plenty of room for “social distancing”. We invite all of our ladies
to join us for this special Bible Study. Bring a friend, too! TCCC
