• Russia or Russian Federation as it is political known, but for the purposes of this presentation , we will refer it to as Russia.• Russia is the world biggest country. Russia has eleven time zones

spanning through out the land, as well as three oceans: the Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific. (Torussia)

Introduction:Reason why it was chosen for our clients

This Country was selected for our clients because our clients who enjoy immersing themselves in historical and unique cultures. It has been a aspiration of John and Elizabeth to be able to travel to Russia and visit some historical monuments. They are both history enthusiast, particularly Russian history.

Weather and Climate

Certain areas of Russia are prone to volcanic activity and earthquakes, these areas include Kamchatka Peninsula and Kuril Islands. In parts of western Russia and Siberia are likely to have forest fires and spring flooding

Travel Advisories

• According to the foreign affairs website there is no Nation wide advisory, however its suggest “ a high degree of caution due to crime” (travel.gc, destinations,Russia). This a common advisories for people who travel to different countries.

• However they have listed a Regional Advisory for the following regions:• Republics of Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan;• Republics of Karachai-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria (including

the Mount Elbrus region) and North Ossetia• Regions of Budyonnosky, Levokumsky, Neftekumsky,

Stepnovsky and Kurski, part of the district of Stavropol Krai.It is suggested that Canadian travellers in these regions vacate these areas.The Canadian Embassy in Moscow capability to provide assistance is restricted and slim to none  

Is the Local water drinkable?

• Russians don’t drink tap water• Can harm a travelers body due to

substances that a traveller is not used to.• Unhealthy, as it may contain

disease causing elements.

Pirozhki:Essentially are pastries filled with potatoes, meat, cabbage and or cheese.

Morozhenoe:Russian ice cream, usually topped an assortment of toppings i.e nuts, fruit, and/or chocolate. Commonly found on restaurant menus

Crime and Political problems

• The Russian mafia has a large part in the illegal activity in Russia• The mafia has close ties to the

government and law enforcement.• Law enforcement is very corrupted.• Always proceed with caution.

Shopping

• best shopping area in Moscow: the red square, • traditional Russian culture

souvenirs: you can walk up and down the streets of Krasnaya Ploschad to  exploring shops like Russian gifts were you can purchase : matryoshkas (nesting dolls), traditional wooden toys, and lacquered miniatures which is a Russian folk handicraft of miniature paintings   

Shopping Con’t

• For the collectors: if wanting to collect something more valuable and price worthy you can walk Ulitsa Ilyinka the next street over to  Gusevskoy Crystal where they sell porcelain vase, glasses, and amber jewelry, though you can’t bargain for these items, they are a must have for experiencing the Russian history  .

Night Life

• If you aren’t an early bird but a night owl you can visit local bars and restaurant opened up in the city of Moscow where they have a soaring night life with delicious traditional cuisine. From the boshka pub on ulista street to the fine dining  of Alhimik (Alchemist) on Ulitsa Pokrovka street were its really pricey. Nooning Bar - Moscow

St. Basil’s Cathedral

• Location: bordering Red Square: 2 Krasnaya Ploshchad,, Moscow, Russia

• Opening hours: Daily from 11.00 to 17.00, closed on Tuesdays.

• Man-made• Fee: Yes entry fee is 200 rubles

• This appeals to the tourist because it is a unique building with many unique aspects. Visitors to the Catherdral can see historical architecture dating back to the 15th centaury. It also appeals to anyone with someone who has an interest in religion.

The Armory

• Location: Kremlin part of Moscow• Opening days & hours

• museums open daily, except Thursdays• from 10:00 to 17:00.

• The Armoury Chamber has seances at 10:00, 12:00 , 14:30, 16:30.

• Fee: must buy tickets - 700 rub.• Man made

• This appeals to tourist because it is the treasures and timepieces from many different eras. It includes a wide assortment of stuff from jewelry to clothes to armory and many more.

Day 2 St. Petersburg• Founded by Peter the Great, construction began in 1703 and the city eventually spread over 100 islands linked by 700 bridges. It
