Majority of retailers in rural

market do have a storage

facility available but in a very

small ratio so they have to

buy only those things which

are of prime importance and

which is in current demand.

Page 18: Rural Management slide share

LACK OF ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE: Even though the rural

retailers are well informed but they still lack the knowledge of new

product launched. They can only get this information from the

wholesellers.

TRANSPORTATION: The rural market is facing the problem of

transportation as even today the interiors are not well supplied with

products.

Page 19: Rural Management slide share

STORAGE: In rural shops there is very

small ratio of storage as the shops are small

and they can only buy what is important.

INCOME: Another major problem is the

lack of funds. They don’t have money to buy

the products as they earn less so they buy what

is affordable to them.

CONCLUSION

Page 21: Rural Management slide share

Marketer should supply their products directly

to the rural retailers rather than taking help of

wholesellers.

Marketer should employ the women for

packing their products.

Develop special sizes for household products.

Increase awareness for the product.

Marketers must trade off the distribution cost

with incremental market penetration.
