5Are you living with life shortening or terminal illness or looking after someone who is? Are you struggling to keep on top of things for Christmas? There is always so much to organise and plan over the festive period.
St Nicholas Hospice Care would like to offer a helping hand to you and your loved ones so that your Christmas is as special as it should be.
Here at the Hospice we believe it is important to maintain normality in one’s own home when living with dying, but we know that often this doesn’t happen. This is why our team of local volunteer Hospice Neighbours have been recruited. They provide a free service throughout the year for local people living with life shortening illnesses; helping them and their families to get those jobs done that have become unmanageable through lack of time or loss of mobility.
Your Hospice Neighbour can do anything from dusting to dog walking, from lawn mowing to grocery shopping as well as being there for a sit-down and a cuppa when you just feel like having a chat.
At this time of year there are even more things to do around the house, with decorations to put up and extra food to buy for all your festive visitors so why not enlist the help of one of our volunteers who will lend a hand throughout the Christmas season and beyond if required.
If you live in Haverhill, Stanton, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket or Sudbury and need an extra pair of hands at Christmas or whenever, or would like some more information, please contact Hospice Neighbour Coordinator Kay Newman on 01284 719638 or [email protected] or go to www.stnicholashospicecare.org.uk
HOSPICE NEIGHBOURS: Here to help
out
Even if you don’t need a help-ing hand at this point, why don’t you recommend the scheme to someone in your community who does?
Here are some things people have said about their Hospice Neighbour:
“I can now lay on my bed and look up at the ceiling without looking at cobwebs”.
“Thank you for sending Anna. We get on like a house on fire and she involves my husband in conversation too. It is so nice I can go out and not wor-ry about him”.
“The visits have made a huge difference, I couldn’t wish for a better service”.

HEALTH
THE GASTRIC WEIGHT-LOSS HYPNO-BANDHAS NOW ARRIVED IN EAST ANGLIA
Special Offer of £375 for the complete
programme!!!For a limited period only
Hypno-BandWeight Loss System
Licensed Practitioner
Ruth is a licensed Hypno-band practitioner and using the latest techniques, she will take you through this fantastic Hypnoband weightloss programme, whereby a state of mind is created into believing that you have actually had the gastric band fitted!!!
Take a look at the following story from a real person like you, who has changed her life!!!
This was an article taken from the Daily Mail...
“I lost 4 stone after a Hypnotist convinced me to have a gastric band”
As gastric bands go, it was surprisingly straight forward and pleasant. There was NO pain, NO risk of infection, NO anaesthetic and NO recovery period afterwards and all at a fraction of the £7,000 such surgery would have cost. That’s because the patient, Company
Director, Emma Eveleigh-Anderton, 36, never actually had a gastric band fitted.
Dramatic weight loss, Emma Eveleigh-Anderton, 36, has dropped five dress sizes in just six months after being hypnotised into believing that she had a gastric band fitted.
The mother-of-two paid £980 for four sessions over a one month period, starting with a 45 minute ‘virtual’ surgery where Russell Hemmings talked her through every step of the medical procedure as though she were actually in the operating theatre.
She said, “It was as if I was having the operation, except I was in an office rather than a theatre. After the first session I felt hopeful, but after the second, I really felt more positive and much more controlled about my eating. I had actually re-educated my mind.
I was starting to feel fuller quicker and eating much less”.
Mrs Eveleigh-Anderton, from Coventry, runs her own exhibition and conference organisation with husband Darren, 42. She turned to the gastric band therapy after diets, appetite supression pills and sheer willpower failed to help her lose weight alone.

SURGERY!!!

The Museum of East Anglian Life is Stowmarket’s hidden gem, an 80 acre area of countryside situated within the centre of Stowmarket, just waiting to be explored.
The Museum offers so much, not just to its visitors, but to the community that surrounds it. With a collection of over 40,000 objects, a range of preserved historic buildings and beautifully conserved landscape, there truly is something to benefit everyone.
Next year heralds an exciting new chapter for the Museum, as it prepares for the grand opening of Abbott’s Hall, a beautiful 18th century Queen Anne style house, which is now returning to the forefront of the Museum to turn Abbot’s Hall into an exciting nine room exhibition centre.
Hosting a large selection of annual events ranging from the ever popular Beer Festival, and the brilliant Steam and Crafts weekend, to a fireworks display that always goes off with a bang, there’s never a dull moment at the Museum.
MEAL also offers a range of children’s and family activities throughout the year, providing a safe environment for children to grow and learn, whilst making sure to keep the whole family entertained.
MEAL has a large number of volunteers who help out on site and with events, but is always looking for more people to come and help out with a wide range of tasks.
The Museum is a Social Enterprise therefore very community involved and offers supported volunteering, and work based learning projects.
MEAL is currently running a series of paid traineeships in a number of different skills areas, as part of the Skills for the Future project which works to preserve heritage skills.
All of this makes 2012 a very exciting time for the Museum, The Abbot’s Hall project will reach completion, ready to open to the public in the new season. It’s a fantastic project which will represent the heritage of East Anglia and the people that are a part of it. Exploring ideas of what East Anglia means to the individual will unite people in the preservation of history and heritage for many years to come.

MUSEUM OF EAST ANGLIAN LIFE
MEAL was a product of a movement to conserve and display local agricultural and industrial materials from East Anglia, created through a generous donation of land from the Longe sisters in trust to the Museum.
The Museum opened its doors in 1967 and has been going from strength to strength ever since.
