Small Package, Big Blessing
E very year, churches prepare for a summer event affectionately called, “Vacation Bible School.” Some children’s ministries begin as early as January, planning and preparing for that summers’ VBS.
When the theme is finally chosen, the dates finally set and the volun-teers are finally recruited, the hours of hard work pay off when the chil-
dren arrive and lives are changed.
“ Vacation Bible School is not only good for the kids, but everyone involved,” Pastor George Goynes, Jr. of First Baptist Church, Doddridge, AR said. “It’s fun to watch as all the workers come to-gether. It’s a wonderful time of fellowship and it’s as exciting as the

PLEDGE ALLEGIENCE: Girls attending VBS at FBC Doddridge participate in the Pledge to the American Flag, Christian flag and the Bible.
MAKING MEMORIES: Girls pose for a picture in front of the Amazing Wonders Aviation sign.
MAKING MUSIC: Children learn a praise song during VBS at FBC Doddridge, AR. Forty one kids came for the “Amazing Wonders Aviation” week.
Every year during the annual Four States Fair and Rodeo, the Fair-grounds hosts area schools for a day of special rodeo themed activi-ties for preschool aged children and students with special needs. From face painting to racing around miniature barrels on stick hors-
es, the kids participate in fun activities designed just for them. Runnin’ WJ Ranch transported two Ranch horses for the children to pet and groom and gave each child a special Runnin’ WJ bracelet to take home. The day proved to be fun-filled for everyone as the Ranch staff witnessed the smiles of many children.

Collom and Carney Association Employee and Family Barn Bash On September, 29th, Collom and Carney employees and their families came to the Ranch for a night of dinner and dancing’. Despite the rain, the children enjoyed bounce houses and bin-go and the adults enjoyed dancing the do-si-do. We appreciate Collom and Carney’s commit-
ment to the community and are glad we were able to have a memorable evening together.
