  • College Level and Main Event LevelAims & objectives

    1. Encouraging vehicle readiness with special emphasis on QUALITY during the final participation.

    2. It means that the Technical Inspection is a filter where team could be balked of its progress failing the minimum requirements.

    3. To ensure the 100% compliance to Self-Certification Check Sheet a minimum level of degree of preparedness expected during the college level inspection.

    12

degree of preparedness expected during the college level inspection.

    4. To give a qualified guidance to the participating teams with respect to rules and any technical issues.

    5. To bring uniformity of the understanding of rules, evaluation of BAJA buggy and timely readiness of the participating vehicles.

    6. To identify, check and curb the untoward instances of undertaking professional help during the course of BAJA project.

    7. TO COMPLETE THE TECHNICAL INSPECTION PROCESS QUICKLY DURING ON ZEROTH DAY.

  • MethodologyCollege Level Technical Inspection

    1. Teams starts the actual fabrication of the vehicle after being selected through the Virtual BAJA i.e. August onward.

    2. The Final Design Report needs to be submitted and the final BAJA vehicle needs to be manufactured as per this.

    3. At the culmination of fabrication process and approximately at the advent of validation the Self-Certification Check Sheet (SCCS) needs to filled by the teams in order to prove that they

    13

Self-Certification Check Sheet (SCCS) needs to filled by the teams in order to prove that they are prepared for the main event.

    4. The SCCS template MUST be filled online/ mailed by the teams with ACTUAL values both qualitatively and quantitatively before the deadline.

    5. After the thorough scrutiny of the SCCS, Technical Inspectors are assigned to the teams. With mutual understanding between the team and the inspectors the dates for technical inspection could be finalized.

    6. FAILING TO CONFIRM 100% TO SCCS RENDERS DISQUALIFICATION. The teams are advised not to deviate from the rules and get the confirmation on any issue/ doubt before going for final design.

  • MethodologyCollege Level Technical Inspection

    7. NO COMPROMISE ON SAFETY EQUIPMENTS WILL BE TOLERATED. All the safety related equipments must be available physically during college level Technical Inspection without any exception.

    8. College co-operation is expected for the following activities DURING the college level TI

    a) Entire Team needs to be present with Faculty Advisor.

    14

    b) Manufacturing processes are liable to be demonstrated by the team if asked by the inspector.

    c) The college facility used for the manufacturing of BAJA vehicle must be demonstrated to the technical inspector. So, it is advised that the technical inspection is scheduled on college working day.

    d) Cross-verification of the SCCS check-points needs to be carried out.e) Other checks like Figure of 8, panic brake test, tilt test, maneuverability etc. must be

    demonstrated.

    f) Any extra detail invoices/ snaps/ videos/ documents/ declaration etc. must be tendered if required and asked for.
