After installingtheArbor/Extensionintotheheadstock,besuretocheckthatthenutisonitcorrectly.

After the Arbor is properly installed in the spindle, thread the Chucky Bodyonto the Arbor and leave more than enough thread protruding beyond it toaccommodate the Cone. Thread the cone onto the Arbor until it stops, and thenthreadthebodytowardtheConeuntiltheymeet. ToaidinthreadingtheBaseandConeontotheArbor,startthreadingfirstandthenturn the latheon to its lowestspeedwhile firmlyholdingonto theChucky.AlittleWD-40ontheArbormaymakethisprocesseasier.THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT SO PLEASE PAY ATTENTION OR YOU MAY RUINYOURCHUCKY!!ThreadtheJAMNUTforwarduntilitmeetsthebaseoftheChuckyBody.Thisholdsthewholeset-upinplace,preventsfrustration&hardworkifyouthreadtheChuckytoofarontheSpecialArbor/Extension. If you wish to remove the whole Chucky or just the Cone from the SpecialArbor/ExtensionunscrewtheConeFIRST–thenunscrewthebody.Youcanusethethreadingprocessoutlinedaboveonlyrunthelatheinreverse. IfonlyusingthebaseoftheJumboConvertibleChuckyyoucanremoveitfromtheSpecialArbor/Extension&mountitinaScrollChuck(orontheLiveCenter).Ifusingonly thebasewiththeSpecialArbor/Extensionbesurethetipof theendoftheExtensiondoesNOTprotrudebeyondtheChucky.ThenbesuretoruntheJamNutuptothebaseoftheChuckysothatitlocksitinplace. The Extension is matched to the arbor by having a flat on the shank thatensuresproper alignment of the threadsbetween theArbor& theExtension, andpermanently securedwith Locktite. DoNot try to remove the Extension from theArborasthethreadsarealignedtoallowtheJamNuttomovealongthethreads.WESTRONGLYrecommendusingaDrawbarwithanyJumboChucky.
Reverse4”Chucky&Drives: TheReverseChuckywasdesignedtostabilizethework-piecewhenremovingthe tenon or finishing thin wall hollow vessels by using the included 12” longaircraft aluminum arbor. The Drive Chuckies are different from other DriveChuckiesastheydonothavearecessinthethreadedarea&maynotfitproperlyonaLiveCenter.ALWAYSUSETHETAILSTOCKLIVECENTERWHENUSINGREVERSECHUCKY
Insert theMorseTaper endof theArbor into theHeadstock Spindle. ThreadtheJamNuttowardtheheadstockfarenoughtoallowtheconetobeinstallednow.BringtheLiveCenteruptotheendoftheArbor,thenbringtheJamNutupflushtotheCone.Turnthelathetoaslowspeed&iftheConeneedstobetruedupdosoatthistime.Placetheshankofachiselonthesurfacewhileitisturning&ifitbouncesthenitneedstotruedup.Useaverylightshearcut&repeatprocess. Oncetrued,removetheLiveCenterfromtheArborandthreadtheappropriateDriveChuckyon the endof theArbor.Youmay take a light cuton the endof theDriveChuckytoensureitissquaredup.SimplymountitontheendoftheArbortomakethecut.
Reverse4”Chucky&Drives(continued): Ifusingthe“Chucklet”DriveprovidedwiththeMiniReverseChucky,makesureitissecuredinthethreadedendoftheArborwiththeprovidedsetscrew.Installyourvesselbybringing theCone&LiveCenterup to thevesselas shownbelow.MakesurewhentheConeisproperlysetandtheDriveChuckyistouchingthebottomofthe vessel that you bring the JamNut up to the Cone & tighten it to the Cone toensuretheConedoesn’tmovetowardtheheadstock.FailuretousetheJamNutmaycausetheConetomove&damageyourwork-piece.
MicroReverseChucky: TheMicroReverseChuckyisdesignedforANYitemthathasanaccessholetoosmallfortheReverse&MiniReverseChuckies¾”diameterArbor.Itstabilizesthework-piecewhile reverse chucking. TheMicro Reverse Chucky consists of aMT2ChuckyArbor,theMicroReverseChuckyCone,two4”x½”-13Arbors&hardware(whichconsistsoftwoDrives,theStopNut,anAllenWrench&extraSetScrews).
