With view to increase member assimilation involvement of members in club activitiesduring the Silver Jubilee Year, President Rajiv came out with an innovative idea of visitingmembers at their residence. detailed questionaire data forms were prepared forgathering the information from members on their expectations, aspirations, area of interestand so on. The following two forms were used for this purpose.
Accordingly, the President along with Hon. Secretary visited almost 35 members at theirresidence collected lot information related to member/ann’s interest in club activitiesincluding service projects, plan to contribute towards foundation, plan to introduce newmembers, plans for involvement in Youth activities etc.
This information was then shared with respective Directors for their planning process andwas used effectively during the Planning Assembly.

1.2 Puttings System in Place for Better Administration
To ensure better control, President Rajiv introduced, project tracking mechanism. Thisenabled all the Chairpersons to plan their activities better. The process so introduced, isvery simple to follow. Few members had their reservation felt that this might end up asRed-Tapism but eventually, they all appreciated the thought process behind it.
Chairperson submit this attached form dulyfilled to the respective Director attach allthe necessary supportings. All thesedocuments are then scanned docket isprepared to be put up to the Board forapproval through the respective Director.
During the first half of the year, because ofthis system, we have been able to track theproject status expenses incurred towardsthe project effectively.
This will also help all the future leaders asthis can be stored can be refferedwhenever needed.
Our DG Dr. Deepak, during the DG visit alsoappreciated this.
These documents are also part of the Agenda Minutes of Board meeting to ensure all theother members of the Board have clarity about the project, project expenses, vendorsinvolved etc. help them taking the decision during the Board meeting.
Now, to ensure 100% transparancy, President Rajiv has directed Hon. Secretary, tocirculate Minutes of Board Meeting to all club members.

2. President’s Installation Family Picnic
As part of Silver Jubilee year, various ideas were discussed delibrated. One of idea wasto have the President’s Installation at Goa celebrate our Silver Jubilee Year. PresidentRajiv was promoting idea of family level bonding this was seen as great opportunity.The proposal was put up to the members and after discussing pros cons, was approvedfinally.

IPDG of District 3170, Dr.Jorson Fernandes, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He wasaccompanied by Ann. Jane and Annetts for the function. Among the other invitees, whoattended, were IPP Rtn. Shibu of Rotary club of Margao Midtown with his family; IPP Rtn.Dr. Babita of Rotary club of Margao, Rtn. Shailesh, Rtn. Vasant Rtn. Desai. We announcedthe installation of RDEP unit in Rotarian District 3170 through RC of Kolhapur Sunrise.
We took and implemented the idea of our beloved DG Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, of ‘Synergy’beyond the borders of Dist. 3131.

After the serious Rotary Business, it was now time for fun. The Royal Orchid Beach Resortand Spa at Salcete, Goa, was awestruck with bonhomie of Anns, Annetts and RCPKians! Somuch fun! We were not used to it! Everybody had only one question on their lips. Whenwill we have our next Goa Visit The youngest Annet Parnika Bhawkar to the eldest Rtn. PPAvinash Haldankar, all joined in all the activities. It was very desirable excitingfellowship as well as assimilation.

3. First Synergy Meeting of the District 3131
On ‘Synergy’ front, we were the first club to take the idea of our beloved DG Dr. DeepakShikarpur and organised first get-together with our ‘Synergy’ partner, Rotary Club ofRajgurunagar. The first synergy meeting of RC Kothrud and RC Rajgurunagar was held onSunday, 21st of July,2013 in Rajgurunagar. RCPKians had planned memorable andmelodious musicalprogram in form of an orchestra of four vocalists and five artists, playingvarious instruments. In order to add the 'Rotary-touch' to the program, the compering wasdone by Ann Neeta Yadwad.
District appreciated our efforts we receivied appreciation certificate.

6.3 Participation of Interact Club in Srushti Mitra Award
Srushti Mitra Awards have been instituted by Environment Dept. of Maharashtra Govt. andCEE to recognize the efforts and actions for raising awareness about and conservation ofthe environment.
All schools from Maharashtra are invited to participate by sending their entries for theAward. The most inspiring and creative entries will be awarded citation and honorarium.
We took special efforts for preparing our Interact Club of Erandawane School to sendentries in two catagories

6.4 RYLA with difference
RYLA with difference was organised by our club at the Technical Training Institute of ThePoona Blind Men’s Association, Hadapsar on 13th August,2013. The main objective of thisunique RYLA was to inspire hope and awaken the animal spirits in the incumbents of theInstitute by sending message across that they should not be in despair but develop thewill power to fight against all odds and surmount such challenges with sheer hardwork,grit and determination. Moreover, it was an attempt to give them an assurance that theywere not alone in this fight but have solid support from the service organization likeRotaryin this arduous journey.

This device is being offered to one studentbut will be shared by the student’s batchmates too.

7. Avenue Service Projects
7.1 Disease Prevention Treatment, Maternal Child Health
7.1.1 Eye DonationWe had requested all the Members to Pledgefor Eye Donation. We have got very goodresponse from the members anns.
Before the Rotary Year ends, we will ensurethat 100% club has pledged for Eye Donation.
7.1.2 Providing Ambulance during the Ganpati Festival
We had provided Ambulance service by stationing one Ambulance Akhil Mandai Mandalfor last days during the Ganesh Festival. Fortunately this was not required to be used.However, it was stationed in very strategic location, which was addressing the possibleneed of 50,000 people every day for days
Pune Traffic Police provided necessary support for this project.

7.1.3 Eye Check-up CampOur Club Successfully organised 1st Eye Check-up Camp for SWaCH (SWaCH is waste picker'sco-operative) members Tarachand Hospital..Around 40 waster pickers took benefit of thiscamp. 10 members will need cataractSurgery same would be done shortly.
We plan to organize at least more camps forSWaCH members shortly.

7.2 Education
7.2.1 Need Assessment of Schools
To strengthen our focused efforts in RI service avenues viz Health, Education, Water,Sanitation Environment, we had arranged workshop for Rural Underprivileged Schoolsfrom Maval, Purandar, Junnar area 60 nos on Aug 4th, 2013 Damle Hall.
The focus of this workshop was to
a. Check the status of current RDEPsb. Explore the possibilities of starting ALPc. Explore the possibilities to start Interact Clubs in those schoolsd. Explore the possibilities to execute community based projects jointly with School
We have documented each school requirements in the RI service areas. This has helped usto formulate exact needs of the schools.
7.2.2 Installation of RDEP
7.2.2.1 With Rotary Club of Kolhapur Sunrise
Early this year, novel idea was conceived in Goa, during installation of our President Rtn.Rajiv Ambekar. During the installation ceremony, our President took the idea of ourbeloved DG Dr. Deepak Shikarpur to take 'Synergy' beyond the borders of Dist. 3131. Anidea to exchange projects was floated, which was very well appreciated by IPDG Dr. Jorson,Dist 3170, wherein RCPK initiated joint project with Rotary Club of Kolhapur Sunrisefrom District 3170. This was first of its kind exchange project wherein RCPK hascollaborated with club from another district for the Rotary Distance Education Program(RDEP) Sunrise club has shared with us their 3R (Red Ribbon) Programme. Our teamdelivered the promise by installing RDEP Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.

RCEK has received Global Grant of 70,000 in October’13. The installation of RDEPin schools has started till 31st Dec’13, our team has successfully installed RDEP in19 schools.

7.3 Vocational
7.3.1 Study Skills Project
This is one of the unique projects of our club which is led by Ann Urmila for more thandecade. The SQ3R technique (Survey, Question, Reading, Reciting, and Revising) that sheexplains is very effective method of understanding and learning what we read. Apart fromthis, she also conducts session on effective Time Management with the help of PsychologyCounselor.

7.3.2 Career Guidance Workshop
As part of Vocational Service Projects, Workshopfor Women was organised by our club, atSiddhivinayak College of Arts Science for Girlslocated at Karvenagar.
Three eminent speakers from their respectivefields were chosen to address the gathering andshare their views, experiences and their approachto the subject proving their qualitative aspects forall present to witness during the course ofworkshop.
Rtn. PP Dr. Sumedha Bhosale dealt in detail about SWOT ANALYSIS through very lucidapt presentation on the topic. The need for ascertaining our strengths and weaknesses asalso impending threats and opportunities ahead of time were explained beautifullyimparting useful tips for the students in their career. There was overwhelming responsefrom the audience and it did enrich them.
Mrs. Hemantitai Kulkarni, (wife of Mr. D.S.Kulkarni, renowned personality in the field ofbuilding and construction) was interviewed by Ann Urmila Haldankar with series ofquestions. The simplicity with which Mrs. Hemantitai Kulkarni responded and unraveledher journey from Housewife to an enterprising entrepreneur handling and controllingmultiple projects was amazing. At the same time, she also emphasized on the ethics,integrity and preserving core values in dealing with the customers which helped them inexpanding their business activities and gained confidence from the public at large.
Mrs. Nivedita Saboo, famous Fashion Designer celebrity was the third speaker andover 300 girls present in the Hall were more than eager to see and hear about herglamorous field. She also did not disappoint them using her oratory skills and conceptualclarity on various points, won the hearts of all those who were present in the auditorium.She briefly narrated as to how she chose the field, what difficulties she faced how totackle any situation. In her anteratio with the audience she demonstrated the determinedefforts, aptitude and commitment one has to show in the chosen field, if one has to excel init.

7.3.3 Rotary Excellence Award Program (REAP)
The Rotary Excellence Award for the year was conferred on Mrs. Shubhalakshmi Panse,Chairman and Managing Director Allahabad Bank.
The Awardee for the year Mrs. Shubhalaxmi Panse, is very well-known personality in thebanking field. She modernized the banking operations by computerization and installationof ATMs.
We had earlier bestowed Rotary Excellence Award upon many well-known personalitiesfrom very diverse fields, including industry, information technology, music, yoga andsports. Now this year we have added one more field i.e. banking. We are very pleased tofind person of her caliber and stature and that too from Pune. Her acceptance of thisaward shall bring rare prestige to the long and rich tradition of our club

7.3.4 Geet Gayan Spardha
Another signature project of our club, “Geet Gayan Spardha” is platform made availablefor all music lover Rotarians Anns. This is the 12th consecutive year; our club under theleadership of Ann Urmila has organized this event. This year record~ 50 individualsingers, duets group songs from 22 clubs participated in this competition.
Icing on the cake this year was, the Ganesh Vandana presented by our AG Rtn. Nandini Shewas very well supported by First Lady of our District Rtn. Gouri by playing Sitar.
Special appreciation of Ann Urmila to organize this event with the help of Anns from ourclub for last 12 years.

7.4 Environment
7.4.1 Nirmalya Collection Drive
Ann Dr Vaijayanti Deodhar'sdaughter Meghana Deodhar waspart of Nirmalya Collection Projectalong with her college friends.They helped Rtn Beena Sapre ofour club to successfully executethis work started by her. Thisproject was executed in year 2000during. Since then, our club isexecuting "Nirmalya CollectionDrive" every year.
Being Silver Jubilee Year, thisyear our club planned to executethis on Mega scale. We plannedthis activity on Ghats on 5th day
10 Ghats on Anant ChaturdashiDay. School Children, Rotractors,Interactors, College Students,NGO partners employees fromour Past President Gulab'sFactory participated in this drive.
109 Volunteers on day 208 Volunteers on Anant Chaturdashi Day participated in"Nirmalya Collection Drive". This mega drive was possible due to great support from PuneMunicipal Corporation, SWaCH (waste picker's co-operative) DSK Foundation.
We collected 200 Bags (25-30 kgs bag) of Nirmalya on day 600 Bags (25-30 kgs/ bag)of Nirmalya on last day.

7.4.2 Tree Plantation Kumbharvala
Our club has successfully completed water conservation work in Kumbharvalan, so wedecided to continue the soil conservation by means of tree plantation. In this Silver Jubileeyear, Rtn. Prashant Siddha accepted the target to plant 600 plants. 100 plants saplings ofbig trees like Gulmohor, Kanchan, Sawar etc. were planted in the village garden with treeguards. Villagers have promised to ensure watering by drip irrigation. First lady RuchaAmbeker started the program all other Rotarians Anns followed along with villagersschool children. Village Sarpanch grampanchayat members were also present. This year,selected trees like Mango Keshar ), Lemon, Kadhipatta, Shevga Adulsa were plantednear the houses of 100 villagers. This way, we ensured their care protection.

8.2 Senior Citizens enjoyed “100 Years of Bollywood”
In December we had organised Fund Raiser “100 Years of Bollywood”. We had invited 44Senior Citizens from “Matroshree Vrudhashram” to enjoy the music. First Lady Ann Ruchahad organised bus to pick-up drop these senior citizens.
8.3 X’mas Party for kids of maid servents
This year X'Mas party was arranged by our Chairperson -Program Committee Ann Neena in unique way. Ourclub celebrated the party with our Annets along with thechildren of our Maid Servants age group between to 14years. Hats off to Ann Neena for organising suchwonderful unique program.

We had organised, Fund Raiser, Musical EntertainmentProgram, “100 Years of Bollywood”. Around 600 Music Loversenjoyed this program. LinguaNext, MahindraReva, Solaris andWide Wings sponsored this program. The funds raised throughthis program will be utilized for the projects identified by ourclub.
10.2 Special Edition of our Bulletin “Pratima”
We have planned another Fundraiser by bringing out Special Edition of our Bulletin,“Pratima”. The funds will be raised through advertisements in this special edition.
