The year 2016 will be a transitional year for RTC Magazine, as it is for most of our advertisers and readers. The world of embedded computing is changing rapidly, connecting once isolated and complex systems to the cloud for enhanced capabilities. Machine-to-machine (M2M) and the Internet of Things have brought together new possibilities, and with those possibilities new challenges for our technical community. They have rapidly expanded embedded systems that were once internal and industrial devices into the world of the consumer. RTC Magazine is catching this wave with its in-depth coverage for the engineers and developers who will be creating this

connected world. RTC continues to not only evolve with our industry but continues to define the key challenges and insights of our day.

At RTC Magazine we’ve seen this transition coming for some time, and have been preparing the way forward. RTC Magazine teams up with Intelligent Systems Source to provide the most comprehensive product and technology resource available to the embedded industry. In 2016 you’ll be able to take advantage of RTC’s outstanding technical and product editorial coverage, advertise in a highly integrated and omni-channel program, or focus efforts on lead development through our completely unique and risk-free Pay-per-Lead Program.

We see 2016 as a year of incredible opportunity. We look forward to being your partner in delivering quality technical information to thousands of decision-makers every day.

New for 2016: Technology and Security for the Internet of ThingsThe Internet of Things has literally exploded out of the Internet as we have known it. The pace of this development is continuing to accelerate and has changed the nature of what we think of as embedded systems. It is hardly possible to imagine an embedded device that is not somehow connected to a local network and ultimately to the Internet. This allows not only remote control and monitoring but also the collection of staggering amounts of data. Because of the importance of this development, which is expected to soon hit more than 30 billion connected devices worldwide, we have created this new section devoted to the development and security issues of the IoT. We will be bringing contributions with our traditional standards of high technical detail and relevance for developers seeking the latest in innovation and insight into the issues affecting this field. The new section will cover all aspects affecting development and deployment of IoT technology with special emphasis on perhaps the most challenging factor—security.
