Introduction

This system is basically concerned with the reservation of railway tickets to the passengers.

In this we are going discuss that how the reservation is done.

What are the rules and regulations and procedure for reservation?

In this project we will discuss…………..

Objective of Project

All the manual work should be converted into computerized so that the load of employees should decrease.

The database should be stored in computer rather than in register/manually.

Easy to store information and fast accessing of information.

Centralized management reporting & decision support.

Accurate and timely control program.

To make it easy for fast processing and modification.

List of accounts of all customers is available.

To make the Railway system is interactive.

Quick feedback.

Concept StageA. Problem identification:-

Information about the route, cancellation of tickets, departure time, arrival time, number of trainsavailable and other such information.

Store and retrieve information about the varioustransactions related to Rail travel.

Keep track of all its passengers and thus scheduletheir journey accordingly.

Maintains records of passengers travelling in thedifferent trains on different dates reaching differentdestinations in the system.

User friendly interface to administrator and customer

A. Planning Phase:-

The early and most critical step in completingdevelopment, acquisition, and maintenanceprojects

Project manager refine the information andcoordinate discussions between user, audit, security, design, development, and network

Requirements Analysis Phase:-

The requirements are defined in this phase to alevel of detail sufficient for systems design toproceed

The purposes of this phase are to:

Further define and refine the functional anddata requirements and document them in theRequirements.

Complete business process reengineering of thefunctions

Develop detailed data and process models

Develop the test and evaluation requirementsthat will be used to determine acceptablesystem performance.

B. Design Phase:-

Using a top-down & bottom-up approach, designers first identify and link majorprogram components and interfaces.

Contemporary design techniques often useprototyping tools that build mock-up designs ofitems such as application screens, databaselayouts, and system architectures.

Audit, security, and quality assurancepersonnel should be involved in the review andapproval process.

B.1 Development Phase:-

The development phase involves convertingdesign specifications into executable programs

The large transaction-oriented programsassociated with financial institutions havetraditionally been developed

B.1 Integration and Test Phase:-

Subsystem integration, system, security, anduser acceptance testing was conducted duringtest phase.

C. Implementation Phase:-

This phase is initiated after the system hasbeen tested and accepted by the user.

This phase continues until the system isoperating in production in accordance with thedefined user requirements.

The purpose of this phase is to:

Operate, maintain, and enhance the system.

Certify that the system can process sensitiveinformation.

Conduct periodic assessments of the system toensure the functional requirements continue tobe satisfied.

Determine when the system needs to bemodernized, replaced, or retired.

ConclusionThe passenger reservation is a complex activitybecause of sheer volume and types of coachesetc. Also transaction have a good variety. Sothe CRIS and CMS have developed impress/concert based on 3 tier server clientarchitecture. It has a mesh type topology withfive server system in five cities of India. Overallit has proved to be a boon not only forpassenger but also for railways functioningsince, it generates all the report necessary foroptimization and decision making. It is an on-line real time passenger reservation system
