First of all, I really would like to thank all the people in RPA entirely and also whoever relates to our business for letting us able to run and to maintain our business successfully up to this point.

Back in 2009, RPAP started from nothing but just Taku and Masa. They came to Philippines with no connections, no desks and chairs, or nothing. Three years later, we now have 25 of us working together as family setting in a good office. What a success we have made here!! Though RPAP has a lot of things to do, but I am confident that we can go over all of them to reach out more success. So, let’s work colsely as family as always and let’s make it happen!

ThE INTERNShIP last June 4-6 composed of six applicants was one of the biggest batch that RPAP has held. We’ve asked the mentor of this internship, Alexis Bahillo, a few questions about the training and the trainees in general.

How is the training different from the previous ones?

“Generally, what’s different about the June training was that we only taught the Pricing part even though we were hiring for both Pricing and PM team. Before, in such cases, we’d conduct separate training for pricing and pm operations... the reason we had in mind was that the training for the Pricing Team will serve as a good foundation to learn the basics of RPAP’s business operation. On a different note, last June’s training was also my last project with RPAP. So for me, the difference was that I knew I was looking for new members to our crazy family who, Sadly, I wouldn’t be able to fully train unlike before.”

What can you say about the trainees?

“I think it was one of the hardest selection process we had to go through. It was hard to let some of you [trainees] go. You were very eager to work with us and that kind of made us feel good and appreciated. It was a great experience to be your “Ms. Alex.” Although, I really did find it odd to be called such name (haha). But thanks. I think I owe you guys that.”

“May the odds be ever in your favor.” This famous line from summer movie, “hunger Games” was the inspiration of this year’s RPAP Team Building activity famously known as the DevCamp Games 2012. The two-day event held last May 12-13 at Taramindu Beach Resort, Laia Batangas, was packed with exhilarating games plus a night of drinks and fun. The first day started with some complementary drinks from the venue and continued on with friendly sports games in the beach – volleyball and badminton. Though there were no particular groups in these events, everyone was challenged to win. After lunch, everyone headed to the beach, took time to relax, and planned for the most awaited afternoon event. Ready and excited, everyone gathered that afternoon to begin the DevCamp Games. Starting it off were the cheers from each team: Pink Team

a.k.a. Pink Panthers, Yellow Team a.k.a. PEX, and Green Team a.k.a. Team Bergen. Each team then went through five obstacle stations: the Puzzled Targeting, IR Mines, Fill Me Completes, Networking, and Do Not Touch that Error. Though each team had their own strengths, Yellow Team a.k.a. PEX bested the two other teams. The evening was then filled with flying lanterns and a huge bonfire. The “RPAP Idol” began, and Green Team a.k.a. Team Bergen won the tag along with their best cheer in the Games earlier that morning. The rest of the night was filled with music, chats, and drinks. Free time was given to everyone on the last day to kayak, swim more, play more, and bond with each other. Fulfillment triumphed over exhaustion as everyone leaves. The sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship made the RPAP team stronger and better. By Chrissa Borja

Teamwork. Camaraderie. Fun.
