Udaipur: The final year students of three years engineering diploma course of Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic have developed innovative pro- jects in order to contribute towards Smart City. Principal Dr Anil Mehta termed the efforts of students as smart approach. The radio frequency based car parking system allows only autho- rised RFID card holder to park vehicle at designated parking. This project idea will help in controlling un authorised parking. The alco- hol detection system and helmet synchronised two wheeler ignition developed are useful in controlling road accidents. If the driver breath has alcohol then vehicle will not start. Similarly without wearing hel- met , the two wheeler will not start. The students have also devel- oped voice controlled wheel chair for disabled citizens. The wheel chair moves forward , backward and sidewise as per the voice com- mand given. To help tourists ,students developed on line guide management system. They have also developed on line blood control manage- ment system. Similarly projects on water over flow control, sorting of fruits and vegetables on the basis of size etc have also been developed. For citizens of smart city, the students have designed ultramodern residential complex which is energy efficient, liveable, and sanitized. Udaipur: (Prashant Shrivastava) It took about 1600 explosions to penetrate the tunnel through which is being constructed under the water refraction project. The length of the tunnel is a quarter to two kilometers and is locat- ed near Devendra anicut near Parsaad village. The engineers had to carry out about 1600 controlled blasts to get the tunnel through. The last blast was initiated by the Member of Parliament Arjun Lal Meena and Salumber MLA Amrit Lal Meena. The total worth of the project is about 43.84 crores of rupees. There was a strong wave of happiness among the project team and people as this was a milestone achieved. The alignment target of the tunnel was found to be successfully achieved. MLA and MP took the progress report of the project from the officiating additional chief engineer Rajesh Tepan. The project was approved in 2013-14 with a bud- get of 43 crores. An anicut with a capacity of 33.14 MCFT is being laid on the Paarai River. About 45% of the construction work of the anicut of already complete. Lining work inside the tunnel is now pending. According to the officials, the tunnel will be completed by November of 2017 while by December next year, the anicut will be ready as well. After the completion, about 496 cusec of water will be diverted to Chaavand, Kejad, and Harchand reservoirs. Chaawand after getting water will be developed as a tourist spot. This project will also help irrigation in about 1200 hectare of landscape and as many as 27 villages will get fluoride-less water for consumption. This is fifth such tunnel project of the Udaipur dis- trict of water refraction. Earlier tunnels were con- structed under Devas and Mansi Wakal projects. Nirmala and Prakash received Best Designer Award Vilas Janve honored at Ujjain Udaipur: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, LIC divi- sion office Udaipur personnel cel- ebrated Yoga Day with passion and enthusiasm in a program headed by Senior Divisional Manager Sanjay Bhargava. More than 50 personnel and their family mem- bers participated in this program. Shri Amit Garg and Smtv Seema Mundrashowcased vari- ous yogic pranayama, kapalb- hati, bahya pranayama, anu- lomvilom, bhramari, udgith and meditation along with various asanas like padmasan, vakrasan, vajrasan and makrasanother asanas were demonstrated and practiced. Speaking on the occa- sion, Senior Divisional Manager Mr. Sanjay Bhargava addressing the public present in the occasion, made people aware about the use- fulness of yoga in our daily lives, saying that it keeps the mind and body healthy as well as the con- centration remains the same. Bhargava insisted that everyone should take time out for themselves every morning and do yoga and pranayama for an hour to reap the benefits. Entire Udaipur rejoiced and the efforts of central government were applauded by one and all. All the important people of the project along with public repre- sentatives attended the program. Open air gymnasium, urban health center at Jagdish Chowk, command and control building in the premis- es of Municipal Corporation, heritage conservation and development in heritage house were the main project launched. Smart class room was also inaugurated at the Kanwarpada school of Jagdish Chowk. A solar plant at the roof top of Meera Bai Community hall at Shivaji Nagar was also inaugurated. Home minister not only flagged off tourist buses from the railway station but he also took a ride and then inaugurated an air-condi- tioned room at Tourist welcome center of Fateh Memorial. He also glanced a screen that show major tourist spots of the city. Kataria suggested to install such bigger screen outside so that people can see various activities at these spots. Mime exponents from, Kolkata, Mumbai, Udaipur, Bhopal, Khandwa and Ujjain show- cased their varied repertoire of Mimes with their indigenes flavor. This Festival was inau- gurated by Padmshree Shekhar Sen, noted musician, dramatist and Chairman, Sangeet Natak Akademy,New Delhi. Senior Most Mime artiste and Director of Rajasthan Vilas Janve from Udaipur Presented 'Kripan' Mime based on the poetry of Gurudev Ravindra Nath Tagore's Nobel Prize win- ning collection 'GEETANJALI". Vilas Janve show cased his exceptional caliber in portray- ing character of a miser beg- gar. Effective rendering of expressions supported by appropriate music and voice over made presentation mem- orable. Second day Vilas Janve presented hilarious mime 'Cinema Cinema' in which he portrayed a peculiar cine enthu- siast right from buying ticket to watching film giving elabo- rate reactions to the scenes of the screen. This mime was an audio visual treat to spectators. On the concluding cere- mony Vilas Janve was honored and was given memento by Dr. Prabhat Kumar Bhattacharya, Founder and chairman Madhya Pradesh Natak Lokkala Akademy, Ujjain. Noted writers and critic Prakash Raghuvanshi , Ashok Vakt , Dr. Rajeev Shukla and mime artistes Jitendra Tatwal, Ratan Chakraborti, Sanjay Ramphal, Yogendra Chauhan were present during the cere- mony.
