First Class Frank Rutledge, Readiness NCO, 158 Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) IMPORTANT DATES Saturday, August 13, “50’s Sock Hop.” Dance hosted by Operation Marshmallow will be held at the VFW Post at 803 E Purdue in Phoenix; Cross streets are 8th street and Purdue off of Mt View. Details below. Saturday, October 8, “United in Service Food Drive.” There will be one location on the eastside and a second location on the west side. Details below. November, 2011. “Vigilant Guard Exercise” to respond to domestic emergencies. HIGHLIGHTS: Ron made a motion to accept Raul Chavez into the club; Pat seconded. Ben inducted Raul into TRS. Welcome, Raul! We’re proud to have you as part of the family. Ben also inducted Ralph Williamson as an Honorary Member. Ralph is a PDG of Lions District 21A and Past Council Chair of Lions Multiple-District 21. He has been a crucial partner in our United in Service efforts. Ben and Ralph were District Governors during the same year. He had a knee replacement last Tuesday and did a telecon into a meeting the next day. He was released from the hospital last Saturday and is expected to be at next week’s meeting. The club sent Don a “Get Well” bouquet of brightly colored flowers. Larry briefed the group on the progress of “Crossroad Camelback,” our Satellite Club. Julie brought Operation Marshmallow packages for our visiting troops. Thank you, Julie! Pat showed a funny JibJab video featuring Sgt.
